Beautiful Blending Inspiration!
Hey, crafty friends! Are you still thinking about those fantastic blender brushes that we released and then sold out of last week? If you were one of the lucky people who were able to order some, orders started shipping this weekend. If you missed out, don’t dismay because there is another shipment on its way with an ETA of 4-6 weeks. The wait will be worth it, I promise! If you would like to get notified when the brushes are back in stock, CLICK HERE.
In the meantime, I have some beautiful blending inspiration from our Taylored Expressions Creative Team to share with you today that will be perfect to do with the new blender brushes! Several of our team members sat down and put together a few of their favorite color blends using the Taylored Expressions ink colors and stencils. I have quite a list to share with you today, so let’s get started!
Jen Shults put together four gorgeous color blend examples using the Folk Art Tulip stencil. I love how she did some blending in stripes going horizontal, diagonal, and even did some blending in a radial design. My favorite is the rainbow blend on the top right!
Starting from the top left and going around clockwise, here are the color blends that Jen shared above:
- Guava, Candy Corn, Toffee
- Jelly Donut, Cilantro, Dijon, Pumpkin, Cherry Pop
- Gumball, Lavender Glaze, Earl Gray
- Blueberry, Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest
Jen created a card to share using the Guava, Candy Corn, and Toffee blend. She trimmed the blended piece on the diagonal and added the “Happy Birthday Friend” sentiment using the Caps Lock – Happy die and Sending Sunshine stamp set. You could put together a stack of cards like this quickly after spending a little time color blending!
Next up is a lovely line up of blending inspiration from Melody Rupple using the Herringbone stencil. You can use ink colors that go from light to dark of the same color tone to create an ombre effect or use colors from all over the rainbow to create different gradient looks!
Here are Melody’s color blends from left to right:
- Potato Chip, Peaches ‘n Cream, Guava
- Lime Zest, Blue Raspberry, Blueberry
- Cupcake, Lollipop, Jelly Donut
- Salt Water Taffy, Gumball, Blue Corn
Melody used the Potato Chip, Peaches ‘n Cream, Guava blended background along with the Bloomin’ Boots set to create this card perfect for sending a little joy to someone. The Herringbone stencil looks like a bricked path that works perfectly for a garden themed card!
Kim Singdahlsen has a trio of colors blends to share using the Double Diamond stencil. I love how her color blends match different seasons of the year: winter, spring, and summer!
Here are Kim’s seasonal blends from left to right:
- Sea Salt, Sprinkles, Spearmint, Mushroom
- Cupcake, Peaches ‘n Cream, Pineapple Granny Smith
- Guava, Fruit Punch, Pineapple Cilantro
Kim used the spring themed blend of Cupcake, Peaches ‘n Cream, Pineapple Granny Smith inks to create this pretty get well card. She added die cut flowers with coordinating cardstock colors to match her color blends using the Bloomers 2 and Bloomers 6 die collections. Her sentiment is created with the Sending Script die and coordinating Sending Sunshine stamp set.
Jill Hawkins put together four colorful blends to share using the Go With the Flow stencil. I love all of these fresh and bright color combinations!
Starting from the top left and going clockwise, here are Jill’s color blends:
- Guava, Pumpkin, Pineapple
- Pineapple, Cookie Monster, Earl Grey
- Granny Smith, Pineapple, Blue Raspberry
- Lemon Meringue, Sweet Potato, Plum Punch
Jill used the Pineapple, Cookie Monster, Earl Grey color blend as a background on a card featuring the Hip Hop Bunny set. She colored the bunny with Copic markers to coordinate with the colors that she used in the blended background.
Here’s one final collection of color blends from Keia Shipp-Smith using the Mosaic Leaves stencil. I love the color blend variations that Keia did and how she didn’t always do her blends in straight lines.
Starting at the top right and going around clockwise, here are the blends that Keia created:
- Spearmint, Lavender Glaze, Plum Punch, Eggplant, Pineapple
- Raspberry Sorbet, Cupcake, Confetti Cake, Blue Raspberry, Blueberry
- Lime Zest, Sprinkles, Cilantro, Blueberry
Keia used the Lime Zest, Sprinkles, Cilantro, Blueberry background on this card. She added more foliage to the Mosaic Leaves background using the Simply Stamped – Leaves set and added berry stems from the Holiday Florals set. For a sentiment, Keia added the “prayers” word using the Prayers Script die. A pretty nature ensemble like this is a wonderful way to send your prayers to a loved one.
