I survived my first earthquake!
Thank you all for your kind comments and your concern for our kitty, Morris. The vet called with the test results yesterday afternoon. She told us that one of the cats from the same litter died from liver disease and that Morris’ liver tests came back abnormal. She didn’t seem too concerned about that fact though. She thought he may just have a touch of the flu (who knew cats got the flu!?). If he doesn’t improve in the next couple days we’re going to bring him back in for antibiotics and possibly more tests. Although he’s still not eating much, he has been up and around in the last 24 hours which is a good sign. Guess what else!? I experienced my first earthquake yesterday! It was freaky! I could go the rest of my life without experiencing another earthquake and I’d be perfectly happy. It was a 5.4 magnitude with the epicenter about 30 miles from Pasadena. I was at work on the sixth floor when it started. The building where I work is on rollers (to help prevent buckling/collapse during an earthquake) so it shook for a few seconds and then swayed back and forth for another 20 seconds. I felt a little motion sick when it was finally over. The good news of the whole thing… nobody was hurt and there was very little structural damage. I think the earthquake threw me off creatively because this card isn’t my normal style, but I like how it turned out. When I showed it to Jon last night his word was ‘gothic’. LOL! I used the Boutique Grunge set by Inque Boutique and the new Sublime Collection of patterned paper from Kaiser Craft. This card was really simple! I only used one color of ink and then masked the sentiment while stamping the flowers. Thanks for stopping by to check in on me today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
