Cinema Saturday Challenge #54 – Finding Nemo
You’re probably surprised to see me here on a Saturday, but I’m so excited to be the special guest designer for the Cinema Saturday Challenge today! When Sankari asked if I’d be interested I knew right away what movie I wanted to use for inspiration! I’m a sucker for animated movies and Finding Nemo is one of my absolute favorites. I just love that little fish! I thought I’d share my favorite scene from the movie. Remember the seagulls and “Mine, mine, mine…” So hilarious! And if you haven’t seen Finding Nemo (seriously….*gasp*) you can watch the scene here. My sweet friend Sankari is so good at finding inspiration in these movies! As we were discussing the challenge she was brainstorming inspiration from the movie. She was saying “Think about the Father/Son relationship or the friendship that develops between Nemo’s dad and Dori…. or this… or that.” The ideas were endless from her which totally shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who reads her blog! I tend to be pretty literal with inspiration so I automatically reached for my fish stamps. I used an old Stampendous eP exclusive stamp set. I knew I wanted to create a fish bowl and I was so excited to find that the Clear Circle favor was perfectly sized to fit inside the fish bowl. So I stamped the fish bowl and I punched out the inside of it with Spellbinders. Then I glued the front of the Clear Circle into the hole. I stamped the scene in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics and then adhered that behind my bubble leaving a small opening to add some clear dew drops for a little shake-ability. Once the dew drops were safely inside I glued the opening shut so they wouldn’t fall out. Then I embossed a piece of cardstock with my Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder. I roughly cut around the top of the swirls and added Crystal Stickles to the embossed portions. I used a sentiment from A Year of Sweet Sentiments, some orange May Arts wide striped ribbon, and a little glittery button to finish it off. I also photographed a closeup so you could see the dimension of the clear bubble. I hope you’ll head over to the Cinema Saturday Challenge and play along! Taylored Expressions is giving away your choice of our new holiday releases to the Audrey winner this week so there’s another incentive to play! And you definitely don’t want to miss the inspiration from the rest of the Cinema Saturday girls! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
