Seeds
In case you missed out on our initial introduction, I want to tell you more about our
Little Bits Die Collection. These dies are small in size, but big on
cute! They measure between .25″ to 1.5″ and are perfect for creating
scenes and adding small embellishments to your cards and scrapbook
pages. And with each die set retailing for just $5 or $6, you can afford
to choose several favorites to satisfy your creative craving!
And now here’s the first card I created using our newest Mischief Maker and several Little Bits dies:
This little sweetie reminds me of my Madelyn so I tried coloring her hair shade of honey blonde. And while our Madelyn doesn’t wear glasses, I couldn’t resist adding a cute pair of red glasses to her smiling face.
After paper piecing her outfit and coloring the rest of the image with Copics, I gave her a glossy apple and added a few more Little Bits to complete the scene. I airbrushed around the frame of the Label Stacklets 2 die and then added a sentiment from the Take Nerdy to Me set.
I made my next project using the Smarty Pants stamp set. Every time I look these images they make me smile! And when paired with the sentiments in Talk Nerdy, my smile becomes a giggle!
I started with Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch #162 I knew I wanted to use the Power Napper sentiment so I flipped the orientation of the sketch a bit to accommodate the direction of the arrow. The patterned paper is from the Boy Oh Boy collection by Carta Bella. I added a button/hemp cord and several Doodlebug Swimming Pool Sprinkles to finish it off. This card makes me want to forget one of my coworker’s birthdays just so I can give it!
And last, I mentioned above that I’ve been living in the land of Crayola so the idea for this card came to me the instant I pulled the Little Bits – Crayon out of the package!
I started by cutting the ‘crayon’ and ‘wrapper’ from Choice Snow White cardstock. Then I chose two complimentary Copics (one a little lighter than the other). I colored the crayon the darker color and the wrapper the lighter color and then pieced them together. The rest of the pieces were cut from black cardstock. I popped the crayons up on foam tape and used a sentiment from A Life She Loved.
Taylor’s Tip: Use Embellie Gellie to pick up the small die cut pieces and put them in place. I put small dabs of glue in the appropriate spots on the crayon, waited a minute for the glue to dry partially, and then used Embellie Gellie to pick up the small black pieces and arrange them onto the crayon. It was surprisingly quick and easy!
That’s it for my sneak peeks today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with more
new goodies to share! Make sure you hop along and check out what the
rest of the design team created using today’s featured stamps and dies! And don’t forget to leave a comment below
for your chance to win!
