Guest Blogger: Kim Singdahlsen Day 1
Hey there, crafty friends! We are absolutely delighted to introduce this month’s Guest Blogger, designer Kim Singdahlsen. We recently discovered Kim’s fresh, fun style and can’t wait to share her wonderful projects with you all month long. To welcome Kim, we are doing a giveaway! Read on for details…
We were thrilled to find out that Kim has been a longtime fan of Taylored Expressions. Let’s get to know Kim a little more:
I am thrilled to be a guest at Taylored Expressions. I’ve been making cards long enough to remember the first stamps that Taylored Expressions released. Then came dies and embossing folders and sequins and more. My personal stash is extensive! I live in Parker, Colorado with my husband, two teen boys, a dog and two cats. I am a former actuary (the mathematics of insurance) who has had the gift of being able to stay home and raise my boys for the last fourteen years. I just finished an accounting degree so I can move back into an outside career. Being surrounded by men at home and being surrounded by numbers at school and work, is it any wonder that I am passionately in love with creating cards – a rainbow of colors, glitter, ribbons and stamps, and a wonderful online community!?
Kim’s Notes: I adore sentiment dies and it doesn’t get much better than the Hi Hey Hello die set with its simple script sentiments (and also a fun phone and banners!) I layered them up so I could use each of them on one card. It’s also easy to tuck a sentiment die next to a fun floral for a quick card and the flower in The Little Things works perfectly for this.
Kim’s Notes: The other must-have set for any stamp collection is a set of paint strokes. Besides wonderful artistic cards, they are perfect for grounding other images. Without the paint strokes, the flowers on this card would appear to float, but with the paint strokes, they are happily sitting atop a small hill.
Thank you so much, Kim, for taking time away from your boys and your numbers to create such a beautiful project for us today! Kim will be joining us again next week, but in the meantime, you can find more of Kim’s design work on her blog, Joyful Creations with Kim.
To welcome Kim, we’re giving away our Hi Hey Hello die set and The Little Things stamp set to one lucky winner! To enter, simply leave a comment below telling us about the last person you called just to say ‘hello’ by 11:59 PM PST on Sunday, November 16, 2014. We’ll choose a winner at random and announce the lucky winner here on the TE Blog next week!
