Blog Design Team: Get Caught Up!
We don’t know about you, but it’s been one of those TGIF kind of weeks here! Lucky for us, Blog Team designer Caryn Davies is sharing a very merry and cheerful card to send us off to a well-deserved weekend break!
Caryn’s Notes: I’m in full festive swing with my Christmas crafting! This card features the
gorgeous Sweater Weather Cutting Plate, but I’ve used it slightly
differently here.
Caryn’s Notes: When I first saw it I didn’t see just one die cut
shape – I saw TONS of them. Not only
can it be used in the traditional way as a full size layer on your card,
but it can also be cut up into numerous different border options.
Caryn’s Notes: I die-cut the plate using white cardstock and then cut it into strips, creating the different border designs. I chose the ones I wanted for my
square card base and popped them onto a panel of red card stock.
Caryn’s Notes: On a smaller panel of white card
I stamped the penguin image from Deck The Halls with Memento ink and
colored it with Copics. I mounted this onto a red panel and then onto
my card base. I finished with a bit of black twine to add some contrast
and a touch of glossy accents to the baubles.
Thanks so much, Caryn, for cheering us up into the weekend! To catch more of Caryn’s amazing work, visit her blog, Glitter Me Silly. Stay tuned for a big Blog Team announcement coming your way on Monday!
