Blog Design Team: Eat Cake!
TGIF, crafty friends! We hope you had a swell week of fun and frolick! And if you didn’t, today’s project from Blog Team Member Amy Sheffer is sure to cheer you up. Check it out…
And now, here’s Amy to tell us all about her project…
It’s always fun to let color and pattern take center stage on a card,
and what better occasion than a birthday?Today I’ve combined some
patterns from the Double the Fun paper pack to create a bright, cheery
background. I accented the “seams” with some ribbons, trim, and some black and white Baker’s Twine. For the sentiment, I pulled out the
fabulous birthday set, Big Bold Birthday. To get the multi-colored
sentiment, I just colored onto the stamp with markers and huffed on the
stamp before stamping. Multiple colors with just one impression — gotta
love that about rubber stamps! I die-cut the sentiment into a circle
using a circle die, sponged on some Squeezed Lemonade
Distress ink (before removing the cut circle from the die), then adhered the sentiment to a
tag.The top of the tag is finished off with some green and white
striped ribbon and some more black and white Baker’s Twine.I rounded
the corners of the background panel and mounted it onto a Peapod card
base. Last, I adhered the tag and sentiment piece, slipping the bottom
of the tag underneath the baker’s twine. Don’t forget to eat cake!
Thank you for sharing such a cheerful card with us today, Amy! You can find more of Amy’s beautiful work on her blog, Pickled Paper Designs. Have a joyful day!
