There’s something about Fall that beckons crafters back to creating
beautiful things. With the cooler weather, holidays, and
Christmas ahead, it’s definitely the time to get busy. Paper crafting is
my passion, but I love curling up on the couch in the fall and winter
evenings with some knitting or crochet. I’m pretty sure a lot of you are
the same way!

Today’s card is all about creating, and it was
inspired by the beautiful Cable Knit Embossing Folder. I just adore the
texture of this folder and it brings back a lot of memories of knitting
beautiful projects. While it’s really great for warm and cozy fall
projects, it pairs up so well with the A Life She Loved stamp set. In my book, Yarn +
Knitting = Sweet.

I’ve been addicted to watercolors
lately and find they are such a beautiful way to color in images. The
stamps in this set are simply gorgeous and lend themselves to other
coloring mediums just as well. Copics or colored pencils would look
equally as stunning. To paint my images I stamped them onto watercolor
paper and then watercolored them using watercolor
markers.

Once the images were dry, I cut them out by hand using
fine scissors. One of the images is popped up using 3D foam squares to add
dimension to the design.

Besides paper crafting I like to do a little sewing and dabble in soap making. I plan to make bars of soap for stocking stuffers this year and stamp my own labels for fun. I also sew little ornaments out of felt for my two grand-daughters and make handmade tags to attach to them each year. LOVE this gorgeous card and the wonderful coloring technique!

Julia's creations are always stunning, and this beauty is no exception. I am always in awe of her eye for detail and her creativity! As for a favorite hobby other than card making, I enjoy cross-stitching and playing with plastic canvas. Unfortunately, since paper crafting has entered my life, I have sorely neglected my DMC floss and yarn. 🙁

I do some gardening, preserving, and cooking, but for the most part, other than spending time with the grandkids, my play time is all with scrappy supplies. Other than cardmaking, I do a lot of scrapbooking–mainly about my grandkids–and also some mixed media items, particularly canvases.

What a perfect card. Love love love it. Well, I had a really long post and list, (twice) but figured no one wanted to read all of that.. So, to cut it short.. I am a jack of all trades, master of none.. I have done just about every craft out there, worked with many many mediums. I currently do card making, and probably will forever. Cards are always needed. Much like birthday cakes, baby blankets, (dang.. still too long.. haha)

I also love to knit – socks and fingerless mitts are my projects du jour right now since they are portable and I can get a few rows in and feel "accomplished!" Love this stamp set, it's at the top of my stamping wish list. (we won't talk about yarn stash!) Love that this stamp set Julia used highlights the joy of crafting.

When I'm not paper crafting I like to sew. I only make simple projects like baby blankets and appliqued bibs etc. but all of my friends and family know that I love to sew coordinated blanket, bib and burp cloths for all the new babies! I also make headband and hair clip holders out of wooden frames. Just back it with some pretty fabric, and string ribbons across them to hang hair clips and bands from.

I decorate tiles to be used as coasters or hot plate pads, although card making is my favorite. I knit and crochet sometimes.

What a gorgeous card! Watercolor is quickly becoming my new favorite technique on cards as well. As for my other crafting adventures, I love to bake, crochet and plant beautiful flowers in my garden so I can bring some of that beauty inside as well. Thanks so much for the chance to win! My second craft is knitting. Not as well versed in it as poo paper crafting. I belong to a Prayer Shawl Ministry through my church. It is quite rewarding as we give shawls, Lal robes or baby blankets to friends in grief, illness or joy over a new little one.

Love this card!!! I having been crocheting since I was 10 years old and still love it – I almost always have a work in progress 🙂 There are lots of knitting stamps out there, but I have yet to find a stamp with yarn and a crochet hook…maybe a new stamp from Taylored Expressions? 😉

I love making ornaments for the holidays. I like to stamp on the ceramic ones with alcohol inks. Other than that and papercrafting, I don't do much crafting. I would love to learn to crochet but need someone left handed to teach me.

Other than card making and scrap booking, I enjoy making gifts of homemade goodies. Breads, cupcakes, pies and cakes. Lots of times, I'll make chili tons of it and bag it up, lay it out flat and freeze it. Then give it to my adult kids for when a night of cooking isn't what they want to do. Freeze and thaw…my new motto. I also do the same by making burritos…freeze and give to the kids. I'm about making their life easier.

Such a very beautiful card!! Besides card marking I love to bake and decorate cakes. !have made several wedding cakes along with birthday cakes and a few anniversary cakes. I love to play with molding chocolate and make people,animals and realistic flowers for my cakes!! I also love to make homemade jelly and jams. Especially Strawberry Rhubarb Jelly. I also make a lot of mini albums as gifts for friends and family during the holiday's!!

I also enjoy making ornaments for my nieces & nephews (9) every year. It's been my tradition for 17 years now to give them one on Thanksgiving (I made owls out of pinecones this year). Now that five of them are older (15, 16 – twins, 17)I am only making for the younger ones now (they say the older ones are still putting theirs on the tree when they are done so they need more!), but I made bookmarks for the older ones this year.

I love and resemble the saying in this stamp set: "I want to make beautiful things even if no one cares". OMG and shut my mouth! What a relief! I thought people had to love and keep all my projects!! Really!! This is one of those light bulb moments for me,lol. It is all about enjoying the process!
I love cardmaking. I am also learning how to color, starting with Copics right now and I love it. They may never make it on a project but I am enjoying it!

Sweet! I LOVE that knit embossing folder!! It never ceases to amaze me that I can follow your blog every week and still find things I've missed that have to go on my wishlist. lol!

Besides making cards, I love to make jewelry – beaded necklaces, wire wrapped cuffs, etc. I also do a little multi-media and some crochet, knitting and sewing… as my blog title says: wherever the whim takes me.

I love the texture of the embossing folder. I love to do counted cross stitch, quilt, sew. Paper crafting is my current favorite. I used to sell counted cross stitch at local craft shows.
