Hey there, crafty friends! Hope your week is off to a great start! I’m popping in today to share several fabulous cards designed by our talented October Guest Designer; Mindy Eggen! So have you jumped on the alcohol ink train yet? It’s fun to see crafty supplies make a comeback – alcohol inks are something I played with many years ago. I still have vivid memories of several friends gathered around the countertop in Joy Kennedy’s kitchen using alcohol ink on dominoes and then drilling them to make pendants for necklaces! Good times!

Well, if you haven’t gotten out your alcohol inks for a while, Mindy’s beautiful alcohol ink backgrounds will make you want to dig them out and dust them off!

The cool part is that no two backgrounds will ever turn out the same, but they’re all equally beautiful! Check out all of the backgrounds on the set of cards she created. Once you start – you can’t stop, right Mindy?

Mindy has a process video for you over on her blog, Mindy Eggen Design, with tips and tricks for creating your own alcohol ink backgrounds. Then after creating the backgrounds, Mindy used our Nordic Snowflake stencil with clear and silver glimmer paste. A simple sentiment using Merry Script, Merry Script Backer, and the Make it Merry stamp companion was the perfect touch to finish it off. After creating such beautiful backgrounds, you don’t want to cover too much of them!
