One Product, 3 Ways: Flip the Lace
Hey, crafty friends! One of the things that I really love, and I know that many of you are with me on this one, is when I can use a product multiple ways to get different looks and effects. Being able to do that makes a stamp set or die collection that much more valuable. I have inspiration to share with you today from Taylor using the Flip the Lace stamp set and coordinating die from our January release. Taylor created three different designs from this set that you are going to have to try out for yourself!
The Flip the Lace stamp set includes an intricate lace border along with several sentiments that are perfect for creating cards with an elegant feel. The coordinating Flip the Lace die cuts along just the lacy edge of the die to create an elegant layer on your projects.
Watch the video below to see the three different projects that Taylor created with the Flip the Lace set:
The three different card designs that Taylor shared in the video all involve heat embossing. Taylor also shares how to “flip” the lace border on your project using a MISTI to create different looks. The intricate lace design is stunning when heat embossed and you can create different looks when embossed on different colors of cardstock using different embossing powders. Think about all of the different combinations that you could try!
Let’s take a closer look at each of the cards that Taylor shared in the video:
Taylor embossed the lace border using white embossing powder on Cherry Pop cardstock for this first project using the Flip the Lace set. She stamped the border so that the straight edge faced into her project and that gave an option to easily add detail in the opening that was left. Taylor added hearts that are stenciled into the opening with the Lots of Love stencil with Cherry Pop ink onto the Cherry Pop cardstock. The tone on tone effect is beautiful and the hearts add a fun, but still romantic feel to this Valentine’s Day card.
The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder onto a heart that is die cut from vellum using a Heart Stacklets die. Taylor layered the heart onto her card front and added a few Bits & Pieces – Drip Drops embellishments to the flower centers in the lace design.

Next up is the pretty anniversary card Taylor created using the Flip the Lace set. She embossed the lace border onto Poblano Pepper cardstock using gold embossing powder and I have to say that this combination is definitely a favorite for me. The gold color on the deep green is just stunningly elegant. This time Taylor turned the lacy edge of the border that is die cut with the coordinating die in on her project and that pretty border popped up a bit just adds to the elegance on this project.
The anniversary sentiment is stamped with Oreo ink on the Toffee card base and then Taylor added a few tiny hearts die cut with a few different shades of red using the Little Bits – Hearts dies and scattered them around the sentiment.

For this last card using the Flip the Lace set, Taylor embossed just the corners of her project (watch the video to see how she does it!) using the lace border embossed with rose gold embossing powder on Guava cardstock. It gave her project a softer feel using the different pink tones of the embossing powder and cardstock together.
Taylor added pretty floral elements to her project using the Fresh Picked Florals stamp set and layered them over the edges of the lace designs. The sentiment is embossed in white to make it stand out and I love the effect of the bit of blending Taylor added to each of the open corners with a blender brush and Guava ink. It softens the look even more on this elegant card.
