Today’s video comes from Mindy Eggen and she is sharing two patriotic cards that she created with new and previously released products. Watch the video below to see how she made them:
In the video, Mindy shares how she created two patriotic cards that both feature the On the Block – Brave stamp and Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp set. She pairs the sentiment on one card with the new Sketched Flag Background stamp and on the other card with the Masking Stencils – Make a Rainbow set and Over the Rainbow stamp set.
Here’s a closer look at a few of the new products that Mindy used in the video:
We’re adding to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Brave stamp and coordinating On the Block – Brave Shadow die. The sans-serif block letters slightly overlap and are not perfectly aligned, adding a whimsical charm to the word.
A perfect companion to the On the Block – Brave stamp is the new Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp. This new Building Blocks stamp includes 22 words and phrases that work perfectly together to create sentiments for patriotic cards, tags, and more. Cut out all 22 words and phrases with one pass through your die cut machine using our innovative alignment guides and the coordinating Building Blocks die.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the cards that Mindy created in the video:
This bright and bold patriotic card features the On the Block – Brave stamp (+ coordinating die) with a great ombre effect! Mindy inked the word with both Blueberry and Cherry Pop inks to create the look. The Sketched Flag Background stamp is also stamped with Blueberry and Cherry Pop inks and Mindy added extra shine and sparkle by embossing both the background and the ‘brave’ word with Diamond embossing powder. The ‘hero’ word from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp completes the sentiment and the gold glitter stars are cut out using the Starstruck die collection.
I love how Mindy was inspired by a t-shirt design that she saw for this card! She stenciled the rainbow in patriotic colors using the Masking Stencils – Make a Rainbow set using Sprinkles, Cherry Pop, Blueberry, and Guava inks and then added the polka dot details in Blueberry ink with stamps from the Over the Rainbow stamp set. The sentiment under the rainbow is created with the On the Block – Brave stamp (+ coordinating die) and a phrase from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp.
Here’s more inspiration from members of the TE Creative Team as well as a closer look at a few more new products that are available to purchase today for our 4th of July release!
We are excited to debut our first Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set! The new Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set includes a red rubber background stamp with bold star outline images, two stencils to add bursts and scattered stars in the background, and clear stamps to add patterned stars and more into the design. Everything is designed to work all together, or you can mix and match the elements in the set too. Use the coordinating Starstruck die collection to cut out images in the set and extra stars for embellishing!
Annette Allen paired the new On the Block – Brave and Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp sets with the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set to create this patriotic card. She did a great distressed red, white, and blue ombre look for the ‘brave’ word and then layered that over the Starstruck background. For the background, Annette embossed the bold stars in white, added the stenciled scattered stars with Cherry Pop and Blueberry inks, added the stenciled starbursts with Sugar Cube ink, and added patterned stars stamped with the clear stamps into the centers of the bold stars. A sparkly star tucked behind the sentiment cut out with the Starstruck dies from silver glitter cardstock is the perfect finishing touch!
Here’s another non-patriotic card created with the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set created by Emily Mydlowski. I love the black and white paired with bright colors that Emily used on this card to celebrate a big accomplishment! The bold stars were inked up with a rainbow of mini ink cubes, the scattered stars were stenciled with Oreo Ink, and Emily added the starbursts with Silver Nuvo Drops. The sentiment is created with the On the Block – Hooray stamp (+ coordinating die) and words from the Building Blocks – Well Done stamp (+ coordinating die.)
Natasha Valkovskaya used the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set to create a card to celebrate a 16th birthday! She stamped the bold star background with Blueberry ink, added stenciling with the scattered stars stencil from the set with Sprinkles ink, and added stamped pattern stars to the bold stars using the clear stamps from the set with Sprinkles ink. She created the sentiment using the ‘happy’ portion of the Oh My Word – Happy Birthday die cut from gold glitter cardstock and the Cap it Off Numbers dies cut from Blueberry and gold glitter cardstock.
An iconic image for all things patriotic in the United States is Uncle Sam and we have featured him in our new Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set. The set includes a red rubber background stamp featuring a pattern of Uncle Sam images and 19 clear, photopolymer stamps to add color/pattern to the images, coordinating sentiments, and more. You can cut out any of the Uncle Sam images from the background stamp using the Uncle Sam’s Head die. Use the Uncle Sam stencil to add a fun fireworks pattern in between the Uncle Sam images!
Kavya combined several of the new products from this release to create this patriotic card! The sentiment on the card is created with the On the Block – Brave stamp (+ coordinating die) and a phrase from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp. The background is stamped with the Sketched Flag Background stamp and Kavya layered vellum over the top to give it a subtle look. Finally, she added a bunch of the Uncle Sam images stamped with the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set and cut out with the Uncle Sam’s Head die around the card design.
Annette Allen used the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set to create the background for this fun and patriotic card. She stamped the background with Oreo Ink and added color to the images using the clear stamps from the set. The fireworks are stenciled around the Uncle Sam images with the coordinating stencil using Cherry Pop and Blueberry inks. The sentiment is put together with words and phrases from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp and is added to a tag created with the Tag Stacklets 2 and Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die collections. A few stars cut out with the Starstruck dies finish off the design!
Jill Hawkins gathered a bunch of Uncle Sams together on this card to celebrate the 4th of July! She stamped the Uncle Sam images using the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set, added color with the clear stamps, and cut them out using the Uncle Sam’s Head die. The background behind the Uncle Sam images is from the Full Circle – Patriotic stamp set and is embossed in white on Blueberry cardstock. I love the red and white striped background on the card that Jill created with strips of cardstock and cut out with the Petite Scallop Square Stacklets die collection – it completes the patriotic look of the card!
The Superstar stencil is designed to create a multi-colored pattern with just one stencil! It is a rotating stencil that allows you to stencil one color, rotate 90 degrees stencil again, rotate 90 degrees stencil again, etc. until you have a multi-colored star pattern without any overlapping stars. Too cool! Create star backgrounds for your patriotic projects – and more!
This card to thank a military hero by Laurie Willison is all about stars and the red, white, and blue! Laurie used the Superstar stencil for the background, doing three rotations with the stencil with Cherry Pop ink, Blueberry ink, and a glittery layer using Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. The sentiment for the card is pieced together using the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp (+ coordinating die). Laurie finished off the card with a few patriotic stars cut out using the Starstruck dies and I love how she popped up the star centers for a great dimensional effect!
