Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here today! What do you think of the beautiful new Wheatfield Dreams Kit illustrated by Lori Craig that we released this week? I had so much fun with it and it had been while since I had done anything with watercolor. I really enjoyed spending time painting the beautiful wheat and sunflower images. Of course, you don’t have to do watercoloring only with this kit! There are so many other techniques that you can use to color and create. I know you saw several examples on Tuesday’s release day post and I have more inspiration to share today from the TE Creative Team and a few guest designers that involve a number of different techniques!

Today’s video comes to you today from Emily Leiphart. Emily was inspired by the colors included in the Wheatfield Dreams Kit (Mulled Wine, Honey, and Sweet Basil) and let them guide her to create her the projects. Watch the video below:

In the video, Emily shares how she created three different cards using the Wheatfield Dreams Kit. She shares how you can use the images from the Wheatfield Dreams stamp set without coloring them as well as how she colored some of the images using Copic markers. All of the images are cut out using the Wheatfield Dreams dies and then Emily used them in different ways on her projects.

Here’s a closer look at the cards that Emily created in the video:

The wheat and sunflowers on this first card are stamped with multiple ink colors. Emily inked up the stamps with Mulled Wine, Honey, and Sweet Basil using mini ink cubes. This is a great alternative if you don’t want to spend time coloring images for your projects! The card background is color blocked with Sweet Basil, Mulled Wine, and Honey cardstock, impressed with a Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets die, and the sentiment is embossed on the background in white.

Emily took the wheat images that she colored with Copic markers and added them across a Mulled Wine Cardstock background that is embossed with the Burlap Background stamp using the copper embossing powder from the kit. She cut out a circle above the wheat with a Stitched Circle Stacklets die to add the sentiment. She finished off the design with a few glittery stars around the sentiment that are cut out using the Gathered Stars die.

For this last card, Emily gathered the sunflowers together onto a Sugar Cube cardstock background. She embossed the ‘Courage, dear heart…’ sentiment onto vellum, cut it out with a Tag Stacklets 2 die, layered it over the sunflower stems, and attached a twine bow. I love how Emily popped up just the blossom part of the sunflowers and adhered the stems directly to the background. It’s a great dimensional effect!

Here’s a look at a few more projects from the TE Creative Team and our special guest designers that are created with the Wheatfield Dreams Kit:

Lori Craig used one of the Foil It – Wheatfield panels from the kit for this beautiful card. The wheat is foiled in gold and then Lori added Confetti Cake ink blending over the top to match the background and card base. The background is stamped using a watermark ink with the wheat stamp from the Wheatfield Dreams stamp set and splattered with white ink to create a subtle, coordinating texture. The Signature Thanks die is cut out from gold foil cardstock to coordinate with the gold foiling on the card and I love that Lori framed the background on her card using the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die.

Jennifer Timko colored the sunflower from the Wheatfield Dreams stamp set using Copic markers and set it onto a Toffee card base stamped with the Burlap Background stamp using Toffee ink. The ‘your kindness…’ sentiment is stamped in Oreo Ink and framed with a Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate die cut. A few Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops are the perfect finishing touch for this heartfelt card.

The gold foiling is just beautiful on this card by Noriko Fairchild. After she foiled the Foil It – Wheatfield panels, Noriko added blending with her Blender Brushes using Chocolate Truffle, Honey, Pineapple, and Lemon Meringue inks. Doesn’t it look like a sunset? The ‘your kindness…’ sentiment is embossed in white on a vellum strip and then the panels are added to card bases in coordinating colors. This is a great card design to mass produce!

It’s easy to spot a card created by Kavya with all of the rich color and detailed images that she is known for! The background of this card is blended with Plum Punch, Jelly Donut, Blueberry and Cookie Monster inks with the Burlap Background stamped over the top. Kavya colored the sunflowers with Copic markers, adding lots of detail with a white gel pen. The die cut edges of the flowers are colored to match the background and it’s a stunning detail that I love that Kavya does often! The ‘thank you’ sentiment is embossed in white and the card is framed with a thin white frame cut out with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die.

I love this pretty pair of cards created by Dana Kirby with the Wheatfield Dreams Kit! The main images (sunflower and wheat) on both cards are stamped in Oreo Ink and colored with Copic markers. For the background on the Sunflower card, Dana stamped just the blossom portion of the sunflower repeatedly on a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock with a soft gray ink color. The card on the right has a background stamped with the Burlap Background stamp using a dark blue ink. Dana embossed the sentiments for both cards on Oreo cardstock in white, cut them out with circle dies, and added them to the cards with foam adhesive.

Amy Kolling embossed sunflowers from the Wheatfield Dreams stamp set in white on watercolor cardstock and then watercolored the flowers using Distress inks – I always love this emboss resist look! The sunflowers are added to a Mini Slim card that is stenciled with the Masking Stencils – Mini Slim Rectangle set. The simple card base, sentiment stamped in black, and a few Bits & Pieces – Silver Drip Drops really let the sunflowers shine!
