In today’s video, Joy Baldwin walks you through how to create Valentine tags that are perfect for attaching to treat bags, boxes, and gifts. Using the Simple Tags collection, including the new Valentine additions, makes creating multiple tags at once so quick and easy – watch below!
In the video, Joy shows how to create two sets of tags: one starting with the Simple Tags – Valentine stamp and the other starting with the Foil It – Simple Tags Valentine panels. Once Joy foiled one of the Foil It panels with Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil, she added color with the coordinating Simple Tags – Valentine Layering Stencil set using Strawberry Milkshake and Lollipop inks with her Bitty Blender Brushes. For the stamp, Joy stamped the tags with Oreo Ink and then added color with the coordinating stencils using Cherry Pop and Earl Gray inks. There are alignment guides so that everything lines up perfectly! Both sets of tags are cut out with the Simple Tags die, cutting out all four tags at once with one pass through your die cut machine.
Here is a closer look at the sets of tags that Joy created in the video:
The foiled tags are are created with pretty pink inks and have a definite girly/traditional Valentine vibe to them. The foil is shimmery and sparkles as you tip them back and forth. For a finishing touch, Joy added Bits & Pieces – Hearts to the tags and added jute twine for attaching thetas to Valentine treats.
Fo the stamped tags, the red and gray color combination has a more subdued/masculine look. There are so many looks that you can create with the Simple Tags sets by changing up color combinations and doing different techniques with the stamps and Foil It panels! You could emboss the stamped design for a more elegant look or use glitter paste with the coordinating stencils for extra sparkle. In no time at all you’ll have a pile of tags ready to go and customized exactly how you want.
Check out the list below for the supplies that Joy used to create both sets of tags:
Here is more inspiration from the TE Creative Team using the new Valentine Treats release products:
Jill Hawkins created a pretty teal set of Valentine tags using the Simple Tags – Valentine stamp and coordinating stencils. She stamped the tags with Blue Raspberry ink onto Confetti Cake cardstock and added the stenciled details with Blue Raspberry and Fruit Punch inks. I love how Jill layered the stamped tags onto Fruit Punch cardstock tags stenciled with the Swiss Hearts Mini Slim stencil for an fun pop of color! Jill added the tags with mini clothes pins to Polka Dot Kraft Bags that are filled with Valentine treats!
I love the new stamp option for the Simple Tags collection and used it to create tags in my signature Toffee cardstock (Heather Nichols)! I wanted to make sure that the Sugar Cube ink really stood out on the tags and so I did the stenciling first with Cherry Pop and Guava inks. A MISTI Clear Alignment Panel helped to get the stamped image lined up over the stenciling perfectly. I cut the tags out with the Simple Tags die and added a few Bits & Pieces – Hearts as an embellishment. The stamped tags are layered on top of Fruit Punch cardstock tags and I tied them to Polka Dot Kraft Bags. As an extra detail, I stamped tiny hearts from the Itty Bitty Sentiments – Valentine stamp set into the polka dots on the bags.
Melody Rupple is delivering her Valentine treats being held by the most adorable penguins! The penguins are created with the Penguin Hugs Die & Clear Combo set. The penguins are cut out from Oreo, Sugar Cube, and Pineapple cardstock. The eyes are stamped with the clear stamps in the set and then Melody added white Tiny Diamonds for a touch of sparkle on the highlight. Melody folded the penguin arms in to hold a chocolate, using glue dots to hold everything in place. You could just give out the penguins as is, or add the penguins to a card, treat box, or tag like Melody did here!
Jen Shults added the penguins created with the Penguin Hugs Die & Clear Combo set to mini cards cut out with the Bracket Notecard die. The penguins are holding sweet treats as well a heart stamped with either the ‘love’ or ‘hugs’ word from the clear stamps in the set. The front of the notecards are stenciled with the Swiss Hearts Mini Slim stencil and Jen added tiny tags stamped with sentiments from the Itty Bitty Sentiments – Valentine stamp set. Inside the card is stamped with the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment and a border of tiny hearts.
This sweet set of Valentine treat bags created by Kavya feature a few of the critters from the Critter Clips – Valentine die collection. Kavya added the bee and bear, that she cut out from cardstock, to Polka Dot Kraft Bags stamped with tiny hearts from the Itty Bitty Sentiments – Valentine stamp set. Sentiments from the set that coordinate with the critters are stamped onto tags cut out with the Itty Bitty Tags – Halloween die collection.
Jill Hawkins created a set of Valentine treat bags in playful colors using the Critter Clips – Valentine die collection and Valentine Treat Totes. The treat bags are stamped with the Ticks & Tacks Background stamp in the same color ink to match the cardstock for a tone on tone look. The critters are added to tags cut out with the Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 die collection and stamped with the Rough Draft Background stamp. Jill stamped sentiments on the tags from the Itty Bitty Sentiments – Valentine stamp set and added the tags to the treat bags with burlap twine.
