Merry Mass Production – A Baker’s Dozen Challenge
Mass-producing Christmas cards (or really cards for any occasion) just isn’t something that I enjoy! I would venture to guess that many of you don’t enjoy it much either. There’s just something about the creative brain that desires to try something new and different on every card! However, with Christmas coming just around the corner I know many of you will be starting to mass-produce your Christmas cards soon (myself included!). To give us a jumpstart, Jami challenged the Baker’s Dozen to a Merry Mass Production Challenge. The challenge is to create 4-10 identical or very similar Christmas cards that would be easy to reproduce. So today we’re sharing our Christmas card sets and extending the challenge to all of you! If any of you know me very well, you know that I’m a last minute kinda girl. So designing my Christmas card on October 14th is simply unheard of, but gosh it feels good to have it done! I knew I wanted to use the Christmas Blessings stamp set for our Christmas cards this year and today is also the Divine Design Bible Verse challenge so I used 
the Luke 2:11 verse for the front of my cards:
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.”
I love this verse for Christmas cards, especially with the nativity scene. I am so excited and proud to send out these Christmas cards to friends and family this year. If you’d like to use this idea for your own Christmas cards, here are the measurements of each piece for easy mass-production:
Card Base: Suede Brown Dark (4 1/4″ x 11″..folded in half)
Pattern #1: Christmas Mint (4″ x 1 3/4″)
Pattern #2: Christmas Mint (4″ x 3 1/2″)
Nativity Image Panel: (2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″)
Sentiment Panel: (3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″)
Start by stamping your image onto the Choice Buttercream image panels. I used Versamagic Sepia ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then stamp your sentiments onto the Choice Buttercream sentiment panels (I used Stampin’ Up Cranberry Crisp ink) and round each of the corners. The stamping and embossing for six cards took me less than 20 minutes! When you’re ready to put your cards together, start by adhering the larger piece of patterned paper to the card base first. Then adhere the nativity scene image leaving approximately 1/2″ of patterned paper showing at the top. Then adhere the smaller piece of patterned paper. It will overlap your nativity scene so it looks like it’s peeking out from underneath. Then I popped up the sentiment on foam tape and added a small red grosgrain bow.
See… how easy that was? Now it’s time for you to get started on your Christmas cards!
