Hello Sunshine! All this bright yellow on my card gets me so excited for Spring. We have been seeing more and more of the brightness and warmer temps and I couldn’t be happier. I started this card with one of the awesome 3×4 Watercolor Panels from TE. This one comes from the Keep in Touch pack. They are just the perfect size for showing off on a card front!
I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to give the soft, watercolored look to the flowers. I was super excited to find that Taylor is stocking these in the store! Yay! I stamped the image with some waterproof ink and then added little dabs of color to the flowers. I then went back in with the Tim Holtz Water brush to soften the edges and move the color around each petal. I really love how quick and easy these pens are to work with. I am no water color expert, that’s for sure, but I always enjoy the process. (TIP: just make sure you have a dry and clean paper towel or rag near by to soak up any excess water. It’s nice to be able to remove some color if you don’t like how something is blending simply by dabbing the towel on the wet image.)
I used the sentiment from Free Spirit to fill the blank space on the panel. I love the bold font font in this set. I also added a pretty stitched scallop accent along the left side to help highlight the greeting. I cut a strip of Potato Chip cardstock with the Stitched Scallop Edge die and snipped off just three of the scallops. I then adhered it behind the watercolor panel. I popped up the finished panel with some foam adhesive and mounted it on a Sugar Cube card base covered with a piece of yellow chevron 6×6 Rainbow Brights paper. A finishing touch was some solid green twine tied along the bottom of the watercolored panel.
