Holiday Thyme
Both of these projects were created with the Holiday Thyme designer papers from Stampin’ Up! I absolutely love these papers… they make it so easy to coordinate. I picked up a few paper mache boxes on clearance at Michael’s and thought they’d be great for holiday gift boxes. I adhered the paper with Mod Podge and sanded the edges for a distressed look. Then I coated them with Mod Podge over the top and added the stitched ribbon. I’m really happy with how they turned out and I’m thinking of running to Michael’s to grab some more! LOL! The card is for the bonus sketch challenge on Splitcoast (view challenge here). The challenge was to make a donut card… named because the circle goes all the way through the front of the card and then the image is adhered inside the folded card. The cardstock colors are Old Olive and Cranberry Crisp. The Riveting set is so perfect for this type of card! The background is done with the stamp from Festive Favorites and the snowflakes are topped off with stardust stickles. I wrapped the ribbon around the Holiday Thyme paper before glueing it down to the card front. I covered the middle of the Riveting stamp with Crystal Effects and can I just say GRRR! The ink bled and now it looks like a big green blob instead of a Christmas tree. Anybody have any advice for this? Why is it bleeding? I’m going to do this part of the card over and maybe just leave off the Crystal Effects unless somebody can tell me what I’m doing wrong. ??? I’m off to go shopping with my mom today and I have to go to the scrapbook store to cut all the pieces for my upcoming class. I’m getting so nervous… I just hope people enjoy what I have planned! Hope you all have a great day!
