Let’s Hear it for FRIDAY!!
It’s Friday! I love Friday’s for so many reasons! Mainly that I don’t have to go to work tomorrow (LOL!), but also having the whole weekend in front of me feels so good. And Friday is now cupcake day, making it even better! I sure wish I had some real cupcakes right about now… where’s Emily when I need her?? Oh Emily, can you come over!? 😉 My friend Emily (WaterPixie) makes the most wonderful chocolate cake… I know from experience!! And I can only assume her cupcakes are much the same. Check out Emily’s spooky spider cupcakes here! First of all, a BIG thanks to Cindy (a.k.a. YLM on SCS) for sending me this cute cupcake image! I’ve had the idea in my head for quite a while to make the scallop punch into a shaker and this was the perfect time to try it! The cardstock colors are Taken With Teal, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. The patterned paper is the Front Porch collection from My Mind’s Eye. I colored the cupcake image with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol and a stump. The green frosting is highlighted with lime Stickles. I created the shaker by punching the smaller hole into a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then centering the circle in the larger scallop punch. As JulieHRR mentioned on her blog yesterday, it’s always easier to punch the smaller of the shapes out first and then center it when punching the larger shape. The happy birthday sentiment is from Amuse. I had myself convinced I could eyeball the placement of the sentiment, but I should have used my Stampamajig so that the happy part of the sentiment was more evident… oh well… you get the picture, right!? The scallop is pierced and outlined with white gel pen. The ribbon is from Michael’s and the self-adhesive rhinestones are also from the Mike’s $1 spot. The card base is stamped with Canvas although it’s hard to tell in the picture. Thanks for tuning in for another cupcake day! Hope you all have a great weekend!
