Cupcake Friday!!
Good morning all you cupcake lovers! 🙂 I decided last night instead of creating one larger cupcake card, I would do 3 smaller cards for you to feast on. LOL! I plan to turn each of these little cards into a larger card. Check out Amy Rysavy’s blog post about using 3×3 cards as part of a larger card design. BIG thanks goes out to Jami for sending me these cute little cupcake images. Jami, if you’re reading… could you leave a comment on the manufacturer of this cupcake stamp? (Jami left a comment… the stamp is Stampin’ Up from Little Layers Plus). The color inspiration for these cards came from the American Crafts ribbon that I used on each card. I absolutely love AC ribbon. My mom was in Iowa last weekend… oh Iowa… the land of Hobby Lobby! I miss HL soooo much! You just can’t beat their selection or sale prices! So while she was back she made a stop at HL and spent 4.5 hours there… yes, I said HOURS! She picked me up about 15 rolls of AC Ribbon at 50% off, *cute* Rub-ons and Paper Studio brads at 50% off, and Stazon was 50% off too! I got white and brown! WAHOO! It was a good day when mom dropped by with that package! 🙂 So anyway, back to the colors… Old Olive, Cool Caribbean, Taken with Teal, and Night of Navy. I did the little “yum” sentiments with my Karen Foster snap stamps. The card on the right is a shaker card using the square scallop punch. For the backgrounds I used Dotted, Spot On jumbo wheel, and Seeing Spots. I also used Stickles on each of the cupcakes. Hopefully you can figure out the rest by looking at the pics. It’s hard to go into a lot of detail about each card when I’m posting three cards at one time! I’ll make sure to show these cards again when I’ve incorporated them into a full card design. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous Friday!
P.S. I’d also like to answer some questions about my upcoming vendor fair as y’all seem so interested! I’ve had lots of questions lately. The fair is on Sunday, November 5th and it is held at a mansion in La Canada, California. My booth will be outdoors on the back lawn. It is an invitation only show and is open to members of the National Charity League of Glendale and their friends and family. Since it costs $10 to attend, I’m hoping that means that people are coming specifically to spend money and not just look around. The woman in charge of filling the vendor spots for the fair told me that they usually have traffic of 300-350 people. It is called a vendor fair because the items do not have to be handmade. Others are selling Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, direct sales jewelry, etc. The woman running the fair is very excited to see my items as I am the only person who is offering handmade cards and gifts. I’ll take that as a good sign that others will also be interested in what I have since they haven’t seen it before at this fair. My mom will be helping me out at my booth and I was able to invite 5 of my friends to the fair as well so hopefully I will feel supported! Thanks for all your well wishes and I’ll be sure to share pictures when it’s all over!
