Birthday Wish
We are celebrating a coworker’s birthday today and this is the card I made for her. I think she’ll like it because I know she likes fairies! And it doesn’t get much cuter than this Amuse fairy image! I had a friend over to stamp on Sunday and she owns this stamp so I just had to use it while she was over. The patterned paper is from the Magnolia Collection by My Mind’s Eye. I used the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder for the other portion of the background. Since the A2 folders only emboss vertically I had to come up with a way to make my background horizontal. I tried a couple different things (that didn’t work) and then decided just to cut the background in two different pieces. If you look real close you can see the cut line right above the scallop between the P and the Y. If anybody else has any trick on how to make this a continuous background, I’m all ears! But if you glue down the two pieces really well, you will hardly notice that it’s two separate pieces. I cut a circle out of the scallop with my Creative Memories Circle Cutting System. The scallop is popped up on dimensionals and outlined with white gel pen. The fairy’s wings are covered with Dazzling Diamonds and her wand is a mini rhinestone. The wish sentiment is from a retired Stampin’ Up hostess set called Small Script. The velvet ribbon is one of the wooden spool selections at Michael’s. I’m currently in stress-out mode prepping for the class I’m teaching tomorrow night and Stamp Mania coming up this weekend, but I’m really looking forward to both of them! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
