    Thank for sharing your story Taylor! I love to share my story. My husband and I will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary this August. We met at a wedding we were both asked to be in. We had mutual friends but had never met each other. We learned after we met that we both didn’t want to be in the wedding… for what we thought were very good reasons, but both our mothers told us we should say yes and support the couple. We weren’t partners but my husband kept trying to be mine all night!!! After all the formalities were over he asked me to dance. While we were dancing his mother told his sister that I would be the girl her brother would marry. We married a year and a half later. We have a very special and precious daughter who just turned 26.

    I met my husband coming out of a bar with my girlfriend I said to her “OMG is he cute! Blue eyes and blonde hair”….he was only interested in my girlfriend….we went to another bar and Lou Rawls record come on “You’ll Never Find Another Love” (my favorite) and we got talking…and we have been together ever since. We both divorced our significant others (both in bad marriages) we have two daughters Jaime 25 and Ashley 22.

    Oh I LOVE that story! Its so much better than mine where I met my husband in a sleezeball college bar as he was trying to hit on my best friend. Alas, 25 years later, and we’re still laughing about the old bait and switch routine he got at the bar. I lured him in with my beautiful best friend, hooked him with my cooking and he spent the next 25 years wondering,
    “didn’t you use to cook?” snicker snicker

    What a precious story and picture Taylor! I love to hear stories of how people met. My DH and I will be celebrating our 30th on June 18th. I can hardly believe I just said that. We met in high school so I feel we have grown up together. We have a precious 24 year old daughter. I can honestly say that I would not change one single moment or memory.     I was working towards my Master’s Degree while working as an accountant.. while working a second job as a cashier at Home Depot.. When I met my husband – he was a manager of the store.. We did a little flirting for a long time – then he asks me “do you like me and I said yea..” the next day I find out he transferred me out of the store in order to date me..We got married this past Nov 18th…

    35 years ago last month, I was working as a waitress in a college hangout. I was still in HS and living on my own. A nerdy looking guy walks in for a beer and has never left my life. He was from Iowa (Mason City) going to school in MIchigan. He got drafted his senior year of college (he was partying too much it seems) and the night he came into my joint, he was just getting back from the Army. We got married after only two dates and people thought I had married my dad!. Funny how the circle comes together as our son (age 30) took a transfer job to Iowa (Mason City!) lost that job and putzed around a bit, settled in Cedar Falls and then met a small town Iowa girl (Nashua) and got married in April.

    Congrats to all of us who make it work even as the world seems to be falling apart sometimes.

    And now hubby gets the senior citizen discount and the waitresses think I am treating my “dad” to dinner! Bwa ha ha.
