Cupcake Friday with MFT
Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day!! Today is my last day at work before we leave on our travels back to Iowa! Tomorrow night I’m going to see the Broadway Musical Wicked at the Pantages and then we fly out on Sunday morning. I’m sure I’ll be eating my share of foods equally as bad for you as cupcakes during our vacation. One of the reasons I love traveling back home is for my Midwestern comfort foods. We’ll probably be having some old favorites like almond patties, dried beef on rusk buns, and perhaps some of my mother-in-law’s famous monkey bread! Mmmm… I can taste it already! I’d love to hear about some of your favorite holiday food traditions so leave a comment if you have something to share! The cupcake card today uses the new cupcake image from My Favorite Things Icing on the Cake set. I stamped the top cupcake first and continued down masking off each cupcake before stamping the next layer. The cupcakes are colored with Copic markers and dotted with little rhinestone cherries. The patterned paper is from American Crafts. I used the Stampin’ Up slit punch to create the scalloped border at the top and the horizontal slot punch to create a slot for the gingham ribbon. That’s about it for this card… sweet and simple! Well… if I don’t yap at you here on my blog for a while just know that I’ve eaten too much of those Midwestern comfort foods and can’t move off the couch! LOL! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!
