Pirate Themed Birthday
Good morning! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! The past week has been a surreal experience for me. I’ve had so much fun showing you the new Stamp a Sweet Impression sets and then seeing your orders come through yesterday was the cherry on top! Thank you so much for your support! I have no doubt you’re going to love what comes in your mailbox next week! I’ve called in the reinforcements (a.k.a. my fabulous friends & family) and they will be arriving soon to help pack orders. Today I want to show you the very first creation I made when these stamps arrived on my doorstep. Some of the costumed cupcakes in the Trick or Sweet set are versatile and would work for creations outside of the Halloween theme. To show you what I mean, I used the pirate cuppie to create this Pirate themed birthday party ensemble. I used the “You Arrrr Invited” sentiment at the top of the invitation and then printed the rest of the details on the computer. The invitation reads:
“We heard a tale of a buried treasure chest, So wear your patch and your pirate vest. We have a map to guide the way, come ready to hunt at Tyson’s 6th Birthday”
I didn’t have any red striped paper so I used my Copic marker to stripe the paper. The pirate cuppie is also colored with Copic markers and I added Red Liquid Pearls to his cherry. I made the little “treasure chest” party favor with the square self-closing favor box. These favor boxes (and many others) can be purchased at Taylored Expressions. Inside the treasure chest is a mini cupcake. I was shopping at a local boutique a few weeks ago and they were handing out these adorable cupcakes in the checkout line. It was just too cute to eat and so the idea for this pirate birthday ensemble was born from this mini cupcake I received while waiting to checkout! I must say that once I had created and photographed the ensemble, I promtly finished off the cupcake to the very last crumb! lol. The ensemble just didn’t seem complete without a thank you note for the birthday boy to send to each of his guests. I used the “You Arrrr Invited” sentiment in combination with Papertrey’s Simple Alphabet to create the thank you cards. The finished card is 4.25″ square and says “Thanks you Arrrr the Best! I used Black Polka Dot grosgrain to tie the bow. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! I’ll be back tomorrow to share one of my favorite cupcake recipes!
