Early Bird Gets the Worm
All of the new JustRite products are now in stock at Taylored Expressions! I promised an “early bird gets the worm” special so if you’re the early bird, here’s the worm: The first five orders placed at Taylored Expressions will receive 20% off their entire order! ETA: All of the early bird discounts have been claimed! I know many of you may have questions regarding the new products. At the end of this post I have a Q&A session including answers to questions like “What is your one must-have from the new releases?”, “Do I need the self-inking or the wood mount stamp?”, “I haven’t purchased JustRite products before, where should I start?” If you have questions beyond what I have listed below, leave a comment on this post and I will
continue the answers at the bottom of this post. Now on to the details of my Halloween ensemble. I found the Martha Stewart test tube favors on one of my latest trips to Michael’s and I’ve been itching to use them since. They make the perfect little Halloween treat. I decided to use the Favor Box with Lid from the T.E. store to hold my test tubes (this is the same one I used for the Witchy
Treat Box last week). I used a Spellbinders circle die and my Cuttlebug to cut two holes in the top of the lid. Then I just assembled the box with sticky tape and the test tubes fit perfectly! I used my JustRite Harmony Circle I wood mount and the Small Letter Set to create the “Trick or Treat – Smell my Feet” sentiment. The witch shoes image is from A Muse. I designed a matching card using SCS Sketch Challenge 195 and the Trick or Sweet stamp set. The images are colored with Copic markers and all of the supplies (patterned paper, glitter, cardstock) can be purchased as part of the Halloween Key Ingredients. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you love all the new JustRite products as much as I do!
JustRite Q & A
Q: I haven’t purchased JustRite products before, where should I start?
A: I would begin by choosing your favorite font from the Complete Font Sets. The Complete Font Sets coordinate with all of the JustRite products including the new oval and rectangular stampers. You can use these to create monograms or phrases without end! Next, choose a stamper shape. There are so many to choose from now, you might have a tough time choosing one. If you’re only able to purchase one, I am constantly grabbing for the Harmony Classic Circle I stamper for my own projects. Depending on your needs you could choose the Self-Inking version or the Wood Mount (see “self-inking vs. wood mount” question below). Once you’ve chosen the shape, you can start shopping around for borders and centers to fit the shape that you purchased. If you decided on the Harmony Classic Circle I stamper, I would recommend the 10 Borders and Centers to coordinate.
Q: Do I need the self-inking or the woodmount stamp?
A: Well… I have both and I use both depending on the project I have planned! If my project requires mass-production (like the save the date card I posted yesterday), I would choose the self-inking stamper. It is much faster since you don’t have to ink the stamp each time you use it. However, for each different color combination you want to use with your self-inking stamper you need to purchase a new dry ink pad. The woodmount stamp needs to be inked each time you use it, but you can use any of the ink pads you already own to do so. I have several wood mounts in each size so that if I’ve spent time building a lengthy sentiment I will keep it stored on the block for future use.
Q: What is your one must-have from the new releases?
A: It’s killing me to choose just one, but I would have to say the Harmony Rectangular Stamper. There are endless possibilities for sentiments using this stamper and the complete font sets. They are large enough to layout a Bible Verse (like I did here) and small enough for a little sentiment (like I did on this card).
