VersaMark Dazzle Frost Frame
I just couldn’t wait to use this Hero Arts Santa Owl image that I picked up at the stamp store in Dallas! The color challenge at Splitcoast (Real Red, Basic Black, and Kraft) gave me the perfect opportunity! While chatting with the ladies on my trip, the topic of regular old Crayola colored pencils came up. It piqued my interest to see what I could come up with using just regular colored pencils… no Primsacolor… no gamsol. I’m not really sure why I held onto a set of these pencils, but I’m glad I did! It was quick, easy, and I love the results! I also picked up some naked Maya Road chipboard at one of the stores we visited and I’ve been looking forward to altering it since I got home. I started by inking the frame in black pigment ink. Before the ink dried, I poured Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) over the frame and heated it with my embossing 
gun. I let the embossed frame cool down for a few minutes before pressing it onto my VersaMark Dazzle Frost pad. This new ink from Tsukineko combines all the qualities of the original VersaMark pad with a touch of shimmer. The perfect solution for quick and easy elegance. The VersaMark Dazzle comes in two colors, Frost and Champagne. Before the VersaMark dries, pour another layer of UTEE over the frame and heat it. Once heated, the Dazzle 
Frost layer gives the frame a pewter tone instead of the glossy black that only the layer of black craft ink combined with UTEE would have produced. I used the snowflakes from the Home Sweet Home set stamped in white pigment ink on the Kraft layer and a sentiment from the Kim Hughes Christmas Cheer set to finish off the card.
