Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #59

Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! You may have guessed by my lack of posting that I’ve been sick for the past few days. I think the couch is calling my name again, but it’s time for me to soak in the bathtub and try to head into work this morning. When I sat down to make my challenge card last night I knew I needed something bright to cheer me up. So I inked up the cuppie on the beach image from A Year of Sweets 2 and paired it with some bright and cheerful patterned paper from KI Memories. I started by paper piecing the umbrella to match the patterned paper. The middle of the umbrella is popped up with foam tape and the sides are glued down to the paper. I colored the image with Copic markers and added a rhinestone to cuppie’s cherry. I hadn’t gotten out my faux stitching supplies for quite a while and I decided my image needed some stitching to match the stitched ribbon I planned to use. I also covered the yellow circle in the background with Crystal Stickles to look like the sun. The sentiment is from A Year of Sweet Sentiments. And now I’m so excited to introduce .jpg)
