Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks Day 1
It’s release week here at Taylored Expressions and we will have some amazing new products including four new stamp sets and a brand new offering, Taylored Card Kits available for purchase on Friday, December 4th at 8AM PST! Of course we can’t wait that long to start showing you what’s coming so sneak peeks start today!
This month I am eager to introduce a new stamp in The TE Giving Tree series. The TE Giving Tree is a program we’ve designed to raise funds for charity through proceeds from a special stamp set. I am so proud to bring you the next set in this series, Discover Your Wings. This set includes 11 images and sentiments designed by the talented Nancy McKinney. I decided to work with the beautiful silhouette images for my sneak peeks. I started with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Choice Buttercream cardstock. I stamped the flowery silhouette scene along the bottom of each piece in Versamark ink and embossed it with Brown embossing powder. Then I took my new favorite embellishment, Metallic Maya Mist, in several colors (Orange, Lime, Lemon, & Bubblegum) and spritzed each of the embossed pieces to coat them. There are so many things I love about the Maya Mist… It covers beautifully, dries quickly, and leaves behind a wonderful shimmery effect! I let each piece dry for about 30 seconds before using my sponge dauber to add some darker color toward the bottom of each image and create the graduated effect on each card. I added mini flowers (also new at the TE Store on Friday!) and rhinestones for some dimension and stamped the sentiment over the top in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
That’s the sneak peek I have to show you today! The charity we are supporting with this stamp set does very touching and meaningful work that is close to my heart. Recently good friends of ours delivered their first child, a beautiful boy they named Aiden. He was born with a rare chromosome disorder and passed away shortly after birth. The devastating loss of a child is more than I can imagine. Being touched by our friends’ journey with Aiden, we’ve decided to donate proceeds from the sale of this stamp set to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS).
The NILMDTS Foundation is a charity that administers a network of almost 7000 photographers throughout the US and 25 other countries. These photographers volunteer their time and professional services to gently provide a helping hand and healing heart to families who have suffered the loss of an infant. They offer beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner. NILMDTS is there for parents and families to help them in their healing, bring hope to their future, and to honor their child. They believe that it is through remembrance that a family can truly begin to heal. We are honored to help support this charity and I encourage you to go to their website and learn more about their wonderful work.
When you’re shopping at the store on Friday, remember that when you purchase this set during the months of December, January, and February, Taylored Expressions will donate $7.00 to support the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation. Don’t forget…Most of our stamp sets are already die cut for you so they’re ready for you to start stamping just as soon as they arrive on your doorstep! However, the stamps sets we release as a part of the TE Giving Tree program are the exception. These stamp sets will need to be trimmed from a sheet of rubber before they’re ready to be used. We made this decision in order to save on manufacturing costs, allowing us to maximize the amount we’re able to donate to charity. We feel it’s worth the little bit of extra effort and we hope you’ll agree!
