TESC107 – You’re a Sweetie
I am often asked how I choose my patterned paper, cardstock, embellishments, and stamps for the projects that I create. Normally I would have a much better answer, but if you asked me that question today the answer would be “I just grabbed whatever happened to be sitting out on my table!” I was in a rush to get something completed and this was the fastest selection method available…sidenote: You’d think since I ‘m the one who creates these sketches I’d actually work ahead, but I was a last-minute Lucy this week. And I must be honest, sometimes the ‘grab what’s in front of you’ method works and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not sure what I think about this effort, but I do know that I love the fresh color combination! It reminds me that summer is coming and bringing along with it ice cream, popsicles, watermelon, and all the other yummy foods of summer. I used a scrap of patterned paper from American Crafts along with an image and sentiment from Sprinkled with Love. And then I picked out random buttons from my stash to coordinate… it was super fast and super easy! I’m likely to pick this sketch up again this weekend because I’ve got some other ideas in mind for that strip of circles (like a pom pom trim or the new Fairytale Roses that just came in!). There are a ton of possibilities for that piece of the sketch and I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
If you’re enjoying unseasonably warm weather like we are in Iowa I hope you find some time to get out and enjoy it this weekend! Have a blessed Easter! He is Risen!
