April Key Ingredients Subscription
Today I’m excited to share our April Key Ingredients kit with you! Our Key Ingredients Subscription is a monthly kit club dedicated to bringing you the latest coordinating products for papercrafting. Each kit includes enough coordinating patterned paper, cardstock, ribbon, and embellishments to create at least 16 cards. Our kits coordinate well with Taylored Expressions stamps, but you can also use them with the many other stamp sets already in your collection. I’ve hand-selected all of the elements in order to save you valuable crafting time! This month’s kit is filled with bright, fun colors inspired by the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl collection. I love the vintage sewing theme in this paper! To add to the sewing theme, you’ll also receive several pieces of Sew Cute chipboard from Maya Road, a package of coordinating buttons, and 5 yards of ribbon. I’ve also created a video to show you exactly what you’ll receive in this kit:
Each month I issue a challenge to the Baker’s Dozen and current subscribers to give us all a jump start on our projects.
Because our kit features the Material Girl patterned paper, what better way to embellish your project than stitching!? So get our your sewing machine or faux stitching tools and stitch it up!
Also, try getting creative with your card base! Create an easel card, tent card, or shaped card (anything but a standard A2 card)… challenge yourself to try something new!
As you can see, I didn’t get too creative with my card base… it’s 5.25″ square. But I did incorporate faux stitching into the card! I would have liked to use my sewing machine, but do you want to know a secret? I only have a bobbin wound with black thread so I only do actual sewing on cards that have black accents! (shhh….don’t tell *wink*) I knew I wanted to use Crafty Cuppie with the April Key Ingredients… they go together perfectly! I wanted to make Cuppie look like she was working away in her Tailor Shop so I grabbed my Window Shopping set and starting creating the scene. I paper pieced the awning and popped it up with foam tape. That little step always makes the scene more realistic. Then I stamped Cuppie inside the window and created a little ‘table’ from patterned paper. The image was colored with Copics from the April Copic marker matches (which you can find here). I also took the dress form chipboard piece, covered it with brown chalk ink, and created a dress for the form. The sketch I used for inspiration is CPS162. That’s my project for today, but you’ll likely be seeing many more creations from me using the elements from the April Key Ingredients kit! Don’t miss what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen have designed:
