Taylored Expressions March Sneaks – Day 1
Good morning and welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions March Release! We have so many new goodies this month including 12 new stamp sets & A la Carte stamps, and 5 new Taylored die sets! When I asked the Baker’s Dozen what they’ve enjoyed playing with the most they all came back with different answers so there’s definitely something for everyone packed into our ‘springy’ release! All of the new products the Baker’s Dozen and I are showcasing will be available for purchase on Thursday, March 1st at 8am PST! I have two cards to show you today so I better get started!
I’m super excited to introduce the next two Adorable Abodes in the series of houses illustrated by Doug Applegate! By the time we get to the end of the year, we’ll have a house themed for each month, making them the perfect option for creating calendar projects! But they’re perfect for cards too which is what I did for my projects today. The first card uses Royal Digs. I’m in LOVE! This whimsical castle is simply adorable and perfect for lots of occasions like birthday, wedding, and anniversary. I decided to make my castle fit for a princess by adding pretty pink details. I colored the castle with Copics (N1, N3, N5, Y21, E55, R22, BG72) to match my new favorite patterned paper, My Mind’s Eye Dolled Up 6×6 pad. Then I put it all together using Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch from last week. I added lots of details like our new Majestic Border Die with pearl accents, a crocheted flower that sweet Jodi’s mom made for me with a pearl brad center, some cream ruffle trim, and Labels 5 pearl Nestabling to highlight the sentiment. Oh… and I almost forgot about our new Royal Treatment crown dies! These are such a fun embellishment! Here are pictures of the new Taylored dies that I used on this card:
For my second project I used another adorable abode, Spring Cottage. I paired it with papers from My Mind’s Eye – Howdy Doody 6×6 pad (another new favorite!). The house was colored with Copics (R32, R35, R37, E55, E31, Y21, YG95) and I started with Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch which ended up taking a few different turns along the way. I really wanted to incorporate our new Jumbo Flower Border die which didn’t quite fit into the sketch so I put it at the bottom of the card. After cutting the flower border from several colors and filling in the flowers I added some rhinestones and Ice White pearl dots to the center of each flower. I paper pieced the roof of the wishing well to match the roof on the house and then punched it out with a circle punch and popped up on foam tape for more dimension. Here’s the Taylored Die that I used on this card:
So what do you think about the new goodies today!? The rest of the Baker’s Dozen also has sneak peeks of the new Adorable Abodes and 5 new dies sets.
