May Key Ingredients Blog Hop & Challenge
Good morning & Happy Monday! I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I blogged! Last week was crazy… I got sick (again!) which put me down for a couple days and then I threw out my back which put me out for another couple days and then my sister came to visit from California so I took a little time off to spend with her. And that’s my last week+ in a nutshell. Whew… I’m glad that’s behind me!
Today I’m getting back in the saddle and joining the Key Ingredients Design Team for our monthly blog hop and subscriber challenge! This month’s theme is “May Flowers” and we’re all sharing our bloomin’ beautiful projects! If you’re a subscriber then this month’s kit should be in your hands and you have everything you need to join in our subscriber challenge. I decided to play a little bit more with the canvas resist flowers that come in the May kit. I misted them with Cherry Metallic Maya Mist in order to bring out the resist pattern. Then I crunched and scrunched them to create dimension and sewed one of the vintage buttons to the center with elastic trim. I added a green pearl to cover the knot in the trim. After finishing the flower embellishment I decided on a layout. I wanted to feature several of the patterns so the strips seemed like the perfect way to do that. I cut out my favorite Spellbinders Labels 4 and airbrushed on the inside with Copic marker. Then I stamped the stem from Garden Party Blooms with Bamboo Leaves ink and added the sentiment (also from the Garden Party Blooms set) to the bottom in Tuxedo Black ink. The card came together really quickly and I just love the big, bright flower! Here’s a closeup of the flower detail:
The KI design team has more inspiration for you using the May Key
Ingredients kit and the theme “May Flowers”, but we’re also
challenging our subscribers to play along and be entered to win a free
stamp set of your choice. Here are all the details you need to know for
playing along:
1. Create a card or project to fit within the challenge theme using your May Key Ingredients kit (TE Stamps are not required). This month’s
challenge theme is “May Flowers”! You’re welcome to enter more than
one project for more chances to win!
2. Post your creation to your blog or online gallery and then come back here to link your post using the InLinkz below.
You have until June 8th to participate in the challenge and we will be
announcing the winner when the June kit debuts on June 10th. The random
winner will get to choose one stamp set of her choice from the TE
Store! Just in case you missed the announcement earlier this month, Cindy Coutts was our lucky winner from the April challenge!
Check out all the details of our kit club subscription HERE and then head out to see what the rest of the design has created for the challenge:
