Taylored Expressions July Sneak Peek
Hey there! It’s sneak peek time at Taylored Expressions and the Baker’s Dozen and I are super excited to share all of the new goodies with you!
We’re doing things a little differently for the July release and we’ll be sharing sneak peeks using ALL of the new products ALL in one day (that’s TODAY!). Tonight will be our regularly scheduled Preview Party on Facebook and then all of the new products will be available for purchase in the TE Store Thursday morning at 8am PST!
The amazingly talented Baker’s Dozen and friends will be joining in with tons of inspiration all the way through Saturday! So there’s no waiting and waiting to purchase your goodies. You can purchase tomorrow and then tune in to be inspired as your new stamps and dies are on their way to your doorstep!
OK… so enough of my chitty chatty! Here’s my first set of cards using a combination of two adorable new stamp sets, Under the Sea illustrated by Nancy McKinney & Bon Voyage illustrated by Emily Burger:
I’m in LOVE! All of the images on these three cards (except for the fishing boat) come from the Under the Sea set. My favorite thing about this set is the punny sentiments. I picked a few of my favorites for these cards:
I impressed the ocean with the new Waves & Bubbles Impression Plate and embossed the whale spout in white embossing powder and cut it out. I stamped the seaweed in turquoise ink and highlighted it with Copics. And I also used the Wave Border Die.
I think this card is my favorite of the trio. I don’t really consider myself a clever stamper so when I incorporated the fishing boat from Bon Voyage into this scene I was tickled. *grin* The patterned paper that I used on the Wave Border & the paper pieced boat are from the Echo Park Paradise Beach 6×6 pad.
I think I could have given this card to Jon on about five different occasions since I made it! I’ve been a little stressed and over-tired lately which translates to ‘crabby Taylor’. *wink* I cut out the crabs and popped them up on the beach with clouds overhead from the Cloud Duo dies. The Copics I used to color the whale, fish, and crabs were R22, R24, and R27.
Here’s a peek at the cool new impression plate that I used on the top two cards:
After something sweet and simple I decided to try something a little more involved. It might look simple at first glance, but take a closer look at the Ferris wheel:
I stamped and colored an extra Ferris wheel, cut out the spokes & cars with my Prima Craft Knife, and then rigged up a little spacer and brad-a-ma-jiggy so that the carts go round and round. And yes, ‘brad-a-ma-jiggy’ is a technical term. *wink*
The images and sentiments on this card are from the new amusement park themed set, Adventure Land, illustrated by Doug Applegate. The patterned paper is from the Pebbles Fresh Goods collection.
