Taylored Expressions September Sneak Peeks Day 2
Hey there! Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks for our September release and 4th Birthday Bash! We’ve got our party hats on and the cake will be cut on Thursday when all of the new products are available for purchase at the TE Store!
We started our sneak peeks yesterday with four new belated birthday A la Carte stamps as well as the very first TE sampler set where all of our artists contributed images to one adorable set. Don’t miss our Guess the Artist contest for a chance to win two free stamp sets of your choice! Today we’re continuing the fun as we sneak peek Party Monsters, Moka Madelyn, Graphic Greetings Birthday, and two adorable die sets: Bake me a Cake & Dial in Style!
For my first project I used Moka Madelyn! Nancy McKinney drew this sweet birthday girl and we named her after my own little Madelyn who will be celebrating her 1st birthday in less than two weeks. I can hardly believe it! She’s not a baby anymore!
I stamped Madelyn onto Choice Snow White cardstock, paper pieced her dress and present, and colored the rest of her with Copic markers. I cut her out with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Rectangles and airbrushed inside the die line with Copic. I wrapped a bit of Charmed Twine around the image panel, added some Doodlebug Oodles buttons, and stamped the sentiment onto a Mini Tag die cut. The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Sugar & Spice 6×6 pad. See all the curly borders in the background? Well, that’s our new Curly Border die and I recorded a quick video to share a little trick I discovered for die cutting and adding adhesive to the border in one easy step!
For my second project I used the new Party Monsters set illustrated by Emily Burger. If you loved the original Love Monsters, you are going to flip for Party Monsters! So many cute possibilities! I decided to make a thank you card for my mom who has been helping me so much with planning Madelyn’s 1st birthday party! These would make fun thank you cards for party guests too!
I started by stamping the new Circles Big Background onto Choice Snow White cardstock and embossing with black embossing powder. The I colored each diamond with Copic marker and added coordinating rhinestones inside (I used yellow, red, island lagoon, and orange). It’s been a while since I created my own patterned paper with stamps so this was a fun change! I stamped the monster in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics. I also added Black Enamel Accents over the ‘eye’. The thanks sentiment is from the Bugabee stamp set.
My last project uses two new products: Graphic Greetings Birthday and Bake me a Cake die set. Graphic Greetings is a new series of A la Carte stamps that I designed in the super popular subway art style. Keep your eye out tomorrow for a Halloween themed Graphic Greeting! And Bake me a Cake is an adorable set of dies designed by Nancy McKinney. Here’s a look at them… can you imagine all the possibilities for decorating your own cake?
And here’s the card I made:
I started by stamping the Graphic Greeting in the background with four different Colorbox inks (Tangerine, Lime Pastel, Warm Red, Arctic Deep). Then I cut the cake out from the middle of the greeting covered piece of paper and placed a blue paper behind. Next I cut out the cake from red cardstock and decorated it with rhinestones, stickles, pearl dots, and twine. And for the coolest part… I popped the cake up on a wobble spring so that it wiggles back and forth! I used a star from the Reach for the Stars border for the top of the cake and then added the Star Border with all different colored star centers to the bottom of the card. This is much cooler in person! I wish you could see the wobble in the photo! *grin*
So that’s it for my sneak peeks today! The rest of the Baker’s Dozen gals have more amazing projects to share that are sure to knock your socks off! Check ’em out!
