Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peek Day 2
Hey there! Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks for the October Release at Taylored Expressions! We started yesterday with a bang as we introduced several new stamp sets and dies and we’re back today to share some more! All of the new products will be available on Thursday, October 4th at 8am PST in our Fresh Out of the Oven Department. Psst…. that’s tomorrow morning! Today the Baker’s Dozen and I are showcasing the following stamps and dies:
Very Merry, Christmas Countdown, The Cool Crowd, Very Merry Outlines, Very Merry Scallops, and Poster Graphic Alpha
My first project is a big one and it uses the Christmas Countdown stamp set and Poster Graphic Alpha dies:
I love Christmas countdown calendars! I’ve always wanted to make one of my own, but the task seemed daunting and time consuming. So when I sat down to design the Christmas Countdown stamp set, I wanted something that would make it quick and easy and something versatile enough to work for several different countdown calendar designs. The stamp set includes circles (solid and dotted) to fit in standard circle punches and numbers 1-24 in various fun and funky fonts. I started with the round clear top favor tins that I picked up at Michael’s in the wedding favor aisle.I stamped the different elements in several different combinations. The inks I used are Colorbox Rouge, Lime Pastel, Ice Blue, Memento Love Letter, and Bamboo Leaves.
I punched patterned paper circles (1.75″) from our new Merry & Bright Project Pantry kit which features patterned paper from the Merry & Bright collection by Carta Bella. Then I punched out the numbered circles (1.5″) and layered them on top with foam tape. I adhered a magnet to the back of each tin and arranged them on a magnetic board that I previously purchased in order to display cards in my studio.
The “countdown to” was cut out with the Tall & Skinny Alpha Dies. And for the word “Christmas” I started by stamping the banner from the Christmas Countdown set onto patterned papers and trimming by hand. Then I stamped the dotted circles again, punched with a circle punch, and layered the Poster Graphic Alpha over the top to spell the word “Christmas”. I punched two holes in each pennant and strung them with Ladybug Doodle Twine.
I’m so excited about how this turned out and I can’t wait to fill each day with little candies, trinkets, jokes, and activities for the holidays! Here’s a look at the new Poster Graphic Alpha set that I used on this project:
For my next project I used The Cool Crowd stamp set illustrated by Emily Burger:
I love snowmen and this cutesy snowman set makes me happy! I started by stamping Frosty in Memento Espresso Truffle ink, coloring him with Copics, and paper piecing his sweater. The bird and birdhouse are separate images that I chose to stamp in my scene. I’ve been having so much fun with the new TE wool felt lately so I cut the Picket Fence border from Red Hot felt and the Cloud Border from Marshmallow felt (as a snow drift). Then I also cut our new Make a Snowflake dies from Robin’s Egg felt & Marshmallow felt and put them together with a decorative brad from the This & That Graceful Collection. I also stamped some snowflakes in the background with Ice Blue ink, but they’re almost invisible in the picture.
Here’s a look at the dies that I used on this card:
