Taylored Expressions January Spotlights: Love Notes & a CASE of Jen
Hey there! Today the Baker’s Dozen and I are continuing on with our January festivities with a spotlight day! What’s a spotlight day? Since all of our new products are now available for purchase it’s no longer a sneak peek. But we still have lots of ideas to explore with these new goodies so we’re putting them in the spotlight for the next couple days with even more inspiration!
For my first project I decided to use up some scraps from my Date Night frame project that I posted yesterday and create a little set of note cards for Valentine’s Day:
They came together really quickly with the help of the 3×3 scalloped notecard die! I used patterned papers from the Doodlebug Love Birds collection. The images are from the Valentine Doodles stamp set and I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics. Here’s a closer look at my favorite image from the set:
Why is the mailbox my favorite image? I guess I don’t have answer for that…it’s just
super cute! I think I like the idea of a mailbox filled to the brim
with little love notes! This must be why I’ve collected about 20 of those little tin mailboxes from the dollar spot over the year! *grin*

For my second project I used the Oh What a Holiday set. You might remember that we released a similar set called Oh What a Day in November. This set included stamps for occasions like baby, thank you, wedding, graduation, get well, etc. The holiday version of this set has an image for just about every holiday through the year from Valentine’s Day to Christmas & Hannukah and everything in between!
I was thinking back to Oh What a Day and remembered this gorgeous set of clean and simple cards that Jen Shults made:
I checked with her to see if it’d be alright to case her design using the new Oh What a Holiday set. Of course she was gracious and said “Go right ahead!”. Nothing beats the originals, but I’m happy with how these turned out! They came together super quickly because I already had a perfect design to work from.
It’s hard to see in the picture, but I used a different impression plate for each solid colored piece of cardstock. The stars impression plate for the 4th of July card, the hearts impression plate for the Valentine’s Day card, and the clouds impression plate for the St. Patrick’s Day card.
You can find these supplies that I used at the TE Store:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure you check out what the rest of our talented team has come up with today and we’ll all be back again tomorrow for another day of inspiration!
