Taylored Expressions February Sneak Peek – Marking a Milestone
Hey there! It’s Day 2 of sneak peeks and the big release is tomorrow! Guess what that means for today!? Not only are the Baker’s Dozen and I sharing more sneak peeks of new stamps and dies, but Regina is also hosting our monthly Preview Party on the TE Facebook page tonight! Everyone in attendance has a chance to win a gift certificate to the TE Store. It’s such a fun time so if you haven’t joined in the fun then tonight’s the night! The festivities begin at 6pm PST. Until then, we have more inspiration to share!
Almost every month I create some sort of home decor project. Why? Well, for a couple reasons. 1) I love to decorate! I must have picked that up from my mom as she spent many of her earlier years as an interior decorator and still dabbles here and there. Mostly she helps me decorate with her fabulous eye for color and amazing skills as a seamstress (ahhh… I love matching pillows and curtains and bench covers). 2) I love to stretch myself to use stamps on larger pieces of art and in ways I wouldn’t normally consider when creating a card.
On one of my recent outings to Michaels I found myself in the unfinished wood section staring at this shadowbox. I decided I could work with that! I painted the whole thing white and then finished the inside edge with green paint.
I wanted an artsy look to the stamped image so I decided to use acrylic paint on my stamp to create the pattern along the left side. Then I added the flowers from the new Posh Posies set (elongating the stems by hand on some in order to make them varying heights). I colored inside the vases with BG11 Copic and covered the vases with Glossy Accents.
The letters for “Live, Laugh, Love” were cut out using the latest Whimsy Alpha die set… a new favorite! I can’t wait to try a scrapbook layout with the cutesy cursive font!
For my second project, I’m marking some milestones with the new Milestone Markers stamp set. The idea for this stamp set was born out of our wish to get more use from the numbers and elements in the Christmas Countdown stamp set. With the addition of Milestone Markers you can create personalized cards for every age/year to mark any birthday or anniversary. Here’s a quick set of cards I created:
Thanks for stopping by again today! Don’t forget about the Preview Party on Facebook tonight…we’ll we waiting for you! In the meantime, check out the amazing-ness from the Baker’s Dozen!
