Taylored Expressions June Spotlights: Thanks for your Service
Good morning & Happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week! Thanks so much for joining us for sneak peeks this weeks and sharing in the excitement for our June release! All of the new products are now available in our Fresh Out of the Oven department and the Baker’s Dozen and I are joining together today for one more day of inspiration!
For my project I set out to create a set of clean and simple cards that could be used for care packages and letters to the troops. I couldn’t help myself from adding a bunch of little details so I didn’t end up with ‘clean and simple’ but I still love them!
I started by paper piecing the portions of the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate with patterns from the Patriotic Project Pantry kit. Then I stamped the USA image from Stars & Stripes with Danube Blue and Love Letter inks. The image is all one stamp, but it was pretty easy to keep the blue and red inks on the portion where I wanted them (especially by using the smaller Dew Drop pad). Then I die cut the image with the coordinating die.
I was going to stop there but I decided the images needed something behind them. So I grabbed the fireworks stamp from the Celebrate Freedom A la Carte and embossed it in sparkly silver embossing powder on the white background. Then I just popped up the image, stamps and cut out the sentiments with Banner Stacklets 1, and added some red glimmer ribbon to separate the top and bottom.
As I mentioned above, the Baker’s Dozen has even more inspiration to share with you today so make sure you head over to their blogs to check it out!
