Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Mail Art & Chalkboard Elements
Hey there crafty gals (and guys!). It’s our third day of sneak peeks for the November release and all of the new products you’ve seen during the past three days will be available for purchase at the TE webstore bright and early on Thursday, November 5th at 7am PST! If you’re not one for waiting (who likes to wait!?) then you’ll want to join us for the Preview Party tonight at 6pm PST on our Facebook page. You’ll get an early peek at several of the new stamps and dies plus a chance to win one of five gift certificates to start your shopping!
Today the Baker’s Dozen and I are sharing projects using two new stamp sets; Certified Mail Art & Chalkboard Elements 2 along with newly created dies to coordinate with previously released favorite stamp images from Discover Your Wings & You’re my Hero.
Everyone loves getting ‘real’ mail right? I know that little feeling of excitement I get when I receive a hand-addressed envelope, but imagine the feeling of excitement I get when it’s a beautifully decorated hand-addressed envelope! My sister loves to send notecards so I started by making her a set of stylish monogram notecards:
I used the Style Essentials 6×6 paper pad from Echo Park with coordinating cardstock. The ‘just a note’ sentiment is from the Rock My World stamp set. I stamped it onto a label from the new Label It die set and used the ‘W’ from the Sweet and Simple Alpha Upper die set for the monogram. To finish off each notecard I added a heart wood veneer piece from the Hearts & Arrows set by Studio Calico.
Then I used the Certified Mail Art stamp set and coordinating inks to decorate an envelope that matches each notecard:
Here are the supplies I used on my notecards and matching envelopes:
For my second project I used the Chalkboard Elements 2 stamp set. In August we released the original Chalkboard Elements set where all of the different images and sentiments can be formed into endless combinations of chalkboard style art. The Chalkboard Elements 2 set lends even more versatility when combined with the original set, but can also be used on its own. Here’s the card I made:
I used patterned papers from the Simple Stories 24/7 6×6 pad and a Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch #125. I took a few liberties with the design, but that’s what sketches are for right!? I stamped the live, laugh, love and flourishes onto Chalkstock with Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I cut out the sentiment with Banner Stacklets 2 and finished off the design with a bow from the Mix & Match Bows die set.
Here are the supplies I used on the above card:
