Taylor’s Expressions: A ‘K’rafty Project
Hey there! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today I want to let you in on some of our plans for the TE Blog. As we’ve continued to grow, I’ve found myself spending more of my time in front of the computer designing new products and less of my time photographing and blogging about the fun things I create in my stamp room. I know we all love inspiration and ideas so in order to give you more of what you love we’re going to be introducing some fabulously talented ladies later this month who will be creating projects to share here on the TE Blog as part of our new blog design team!
And because I still love to get in my stamp room and create, I’ll be here at least once a week to share a project I’ve been working on. I’m really excited to challenge myself to use more products and I look forward to digging into the TE product archives to show you new and creative ways to use the products you already own. We’ve given my weekly feature a sweet and ‘punny’ name: Taylor’s Expressions. You like it? I think it’s cute. *grin*
I didn’t dig too deep into the archives for today’s project because I’ve been so excited to use the new Welcome Home stamp set and Build a House dies. And I happen to know a special someone moving across the country to her new home! Here’s the wood frame I created as a housewarming gift for our design team coordinator Stephanie Kraft:
I started with an unfinished shadowbox frame that I picked up from Michaels. I painted the outside of the frame the dark chocolate brown and the inside a neutral beige color.
For this portion of the shadowbox I designed a sweet little house using the Build a House dies. My favorite part is the miniature picket fence!
Here I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a chalkboard label. The patterned papers that I used are from the Homespun collection by Simple Stories.
This frame will be making its way in the mail as soon as Stephanie reaches her new home. I hope she likes it!
