For my project I decided to pair the Dino-mite stamp set with the new Sack It – Dinosaur die set to create this birthday ensemble:
For the dino sack I used the Sack It To You die for the sack base and cut it out with green cardstock. I cut the rest of the pieces with patterned paper from the Doodlebug Hip Hip Hooray collection and adhered them to the sack to create the dinosaur. One little tip I have is to take a pen or pencil and curl the spikes on the dinosaur’s head around it to give them more of a 3D appearance.
I thought something like this would be really cute as a party favor to hold plastic dinosaurs at a little boy party!
For the coordinating card I started with
Jen’s Deconstructed Sketch #149 for the layout and patterned paper from the Doodlebug Hip Hip Hooray 6×6 pad. I paper pieced the dinosaur with different patterns and drew the balloon strings by hand with a few Doodlebug Sprinkles for the ‘balloons’. The sentiment and the additional flags behind it were cut out with the Banner Stacklets 3 dies.
This came together pretty easily and I love how they turned out! Every boy that I’ve known under age 5 loves dinosaurs so I think this will become my new go-to for little boy birthdays! And I threw in the “You’re how old?” sentiment to make it appropriate for the old guys too! *wink*
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’ll travel to the rest of our design team blogs and leave some love along the way!
