Blog Design Team: Rock On with a Splash of Color!
Happy Tuesday! We have a really fun, rockin’ duo of cards created by Blog Design Team member, Caryn Davies to share with you today. She shows us what a little bit of color can do to change up a pair of similar cards!
Caryn’s Note: Hi there! Caryn here today with a couple of fun cards perfect for celebrating the birthday of a music-loving teen or young-at-heart rocker! The cards are very similar but I wanted to highlight how a simple addition of a splash of color can make this design ideal for girls or boys – young or old!
Caryn’s Notes: I started with a standard A2 white card base and cut a panel of black card measuring 4″ x 5.25″. I stamped the funky splatter image from “You’re My Hero” in Versamark ink on to the centre of the panel and then heat embossed it in white. (I have chosen a different sentiment for each card but both are heat embossed again in white.)
Caryn’s Notes: For the silver guitar, I stamped the outline guitar image and then filled in the area I wanted to be solid using a Versamark pen. The arm of the guitar was also stamped in Versamark and then both images were heat embossed in silver and then adhered together.
Caryn’s Notes: The red guitar was stamped in grey and then colored with Copic markers and finished with a layer of sparkle using a clear Wink of Stella brush pen. Finally, the guitars were placed onto the panels, which were then adhered to the fronts of the card. For a finishing touch and an extra bit of bling (can’t help myself) I chose some co-ordinating Doodlebug Sprinkles and placed them on the background.
Thank you, Caryn’s for getting your rockin’ craft on! Caryn will be back again soon, so be sure to tune in to the TE Blog often!
