Guest Blogger: Michelle Woerner Day 1
We are so excited to that the very talented and lovely Michelle Woerner is joining us this month as a Guest Blogger. Fans of her work will be familiar with her meticulously-designed projects. Today she is sharing a pair of complimentary cards she created using our Sketched Blooms stamp set, as well as sharing some coloring tips!
Plus, to welcome her to the TE Blog, we’re giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to the TE Store! Keep reading for more details…
Michelle’s Notes: You don’t need to be an expert at coloring to use these sweet flower images! I am no expert and what I find
easiest is if I pick 3 colors in the same hue that range from dark to
light.
Michelle’s Notes: I start by using the darkest at the flower center and work my
way out with the lightest color at the petal tip. You can use
rhinestones or sequins in the center and some glitter or glitter pens
on the petals (and it will distract the eye from any flaws in the
coloring – which is a good thing!)
Michelle’s Notes: How cute would these cards be turned into a set of 5 or 6 and given as a thank you gift? There are more flower styles in the stamp set, and all of them together colored differently would make a fun gift.
Michelle was kind enough to share
with us how she got started with card making and told us a little more
about her crafting experience:
“I discovered stamping completely by accident. I answered an online ad to buy some scrapbook paper and while at the seller’s home,
I saw her lovely handmade Christmas cards. She said she made them
herself – this was a novel idea to me, I never knew people MADE their
own cards?!? How funny is that now? That was 8 years ago and things have
been full steam ahead ever since. I have been blessed to design for
several companies and worked with several magazines over the years.”
We’re glad Michelle got hooked! You can find her on her blog, Stop and Stamp the Roses.
