Blog Design Team: Open If You Dare
Hope you’ve been having a wonderful week, crafty friends! Today we’ve got a fun treat for you from Blog Team designer Caryn Davies. Caryn has put together a set of spook-tacular treat bags that are just perfect for Halloween!
Plus, to help you create some Halloween happiness of your own, we’re doing a giveaway! Read on for all the details…
Caryn’s Notes: I just LOVE Halloween – I get so excited when I start seeing all the new
products being released in September because it means the start of
Autumn and the countdown to Christmas! My kids get a bit
confused when I’m sitting creating Halloween projects in August, but for a
crafter – you can never start too early! As
I have 5 kids, anything I create like this has to be done in multiples
of 5! So I cut the same image in 5 different cardstock colors (I’ll
let them fight amongst themselves as to who gets what!).
Caryn’s Notes: Today’s post is all
about the fun little treats you can create quite simply with just a few
supplies and some yummy Halloween goodies. I created my little gift
bags using an electronic cutter, but there are many options out there,
including TE’s Sack It to You line of dies. Choose fun papers, add cute
embellishments, and you are good to go! To add a little window, simply trim your patterned paper to fit and
adhere it to your treat bag and use a die shape to cut it before
assembling the bag. My bag contents are going to be contained in a poly
bag inside so I don’t need to worry about the treats falling out through
the window!
Caryn’s Notes: To decorate I
have used some of the new designer papers from Taylored
Expressions, which are just terrific for Halloween! For three of the bags I used the dies from The Witch Is
In set. The shoe parts were coated in Glossy Accents and each
was backed in a cardstock color to match the bag they were going on.
For
another of the bags I stamped and embossed the haunted house
image from the Bag It & Tag It stamp set and cut around it before
adhering it to the front of the bag. I added a few extra embellishments
here and there such as colored twine and Doodlebug Sprinkles and a
couple of mini clothes pins. The beauty of a project like this is that
you can literally decorate and embellish to your hearts content! Whether the sweets inside actually last all the way to the 31st remains to be seen!!
Thanks so much, Caryn, for sharing these fun boo-bags with us! To catch more of Caryn’s amazing work, visit her blog, Glitter Me Silly.
