Blog Design Team: Spook Up Some Fun!
Hey there, crafty friends! In just a couple weeks, we’ll be trick or treating for Halloween. (Who could say no to costumes and candy?) We are so excited to share some spooky fun cards from Blog Team designer, Kay Miller!
Kay’s Notes: Today I am going to show you some fun ways to use some of TE’s cute new Halloween products! My first project was to create a couple of cards. For my first card I
first used some of the new Sugar Cube white card stock for making my A2
bases for my cards. Next I cut a panel of green just an eighth of an
inch smaller and mounted that on my card with foam tape.
Kay’s Notes: Then, using the Pockets & Pages Circle Showcase die set, I cut the frame out
in black. I also cut two more of the frames out of two different
patterned papers from The Hocus Pocus 6 x 6 Halloween paper pack. I then
inserted the cut out patterned papers and placed them into the negative sections of the
frame.
Kay’s Notes: Next I cut out one of the layering doilies in green and layered the
Halloween Treat Toppers onto a yellow circle cut from the circle die
that comes with the Pocket & Pages Circle Showcase die and assembled the whole piece. I then adhered the whole thing to my green
panel on the card.
Kay’s Notes: My second card was created just as the first. This time, I flipped the Pocket & Pages
die cut so that the larger portion was at the top, so I could add my
banner and die cut sentiment over the cute, spooky cat Treat Topper.
Since I had so much fun cutting out the cute little treat toppers, I
used a few of them to create some little ornaments for my Halloween
tree. I just created a rosette with my score board and glued the same
pieces I used for the cards onto that!
