Guest Blogger: Kittie Caracciolo Day 2
Today is our second day with this month’s Guest Blogger, designer Kittie Caracciolo, who has given us another gorgeous work of art with this beauty of a card created with our Birch Tree Cutting Plate. We are so sure you will be inspired by her project that we are doing a giveaway! Read on for details…
Kittie used our Birch Tree Cutting Plate and Birch Tree Accessories to create this stunning woodland scene. Kittie shares some tips on how to create realism with ink, distress inks and texture with tools:
For fall foliage: Apply Peeled Paint distress ink to the stems of the foliage and to a few spots on the leaves with a mini applicator. Apply Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge distress inks to the remaining spots on the leaves to cover them completely with color. Use Wild Honey ink to cover, smooth and blend all the spots of color together on the leaves. (Hint: an eye-shadow applicator makes a great mini applicator for applying ink.)
To bring out de-bossed detailing: Apply Pumice Stone ink on the edges and die cut markings on the birch trees with a mini applicator.
For shading on animals: Apply Vintage Photo ink to the deer with a mini applicator.
To add quick texture, use a crimper: Cut the rolling hill sections, crimp and attach to the back of the frame.
Thank you so much, Kittie, for taking time out of your busy schedule to create something beautiful for us! You can find more of Kittie’s incredible design work on her blog, Kittie Kraft.
