Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Designer Julia Stainton is sharing a lovey card that shows a simple technique for highlighting our Bistro Lights Cutting Plate. Check it out below!
And now, let’s hear from Julia about her project…
I just adore the beautiful Bistro Lights Cutting Plate, and I knew the
minute I saw it that it would go to the very top of my wishlist. It’s so
pretty and perfect for any celebration.To highlight this beautiful
die, I decided to cut two panels of cardstock using the die: one from white cardstock and the other from teal. By slightly off-setting
the lower die cut panel, it highlights the ‘bistro lights’ and is a simple
way to add extra dimension.
To adhere the two panels together, I
cut off the top and bottom edges of the white die-cut layer so
that it wouldn’t be showing around the frame of the card. I then adhered
the layers together.I love the
look of graduated color and it adds a subtle interest to the background
of this card. Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and Dried Marigold Distress Ink
were sponged on a layer of Sugar Cube cardstock with sponge daubers. At
the bottom of the panel, I stamped an anniversary sentiment from the In
& Out Wedding stamp set. When using the Bistro Lights Cutting Plate,
this is the perfect place to add a sentiment as it is an open area.To
finish off the card, I added in some embellishments and die cut hearts
using the Cupid’s Arrows die set. The classic heart shapes in this set
are ones I love designing with and go back to again and again.
