Blog Design Team: Eek!
Happy weekend, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Designer Lisa Henke has created an adorable Halloween shaker card that is sure to get you in the trick or treat spirit!
And now, here’s Lisa to tell us all about her project…
I am not a dark and gory Halloween fan, give me spooky and cute every time. The Tag-a-long Halloween stamps are
just what this girl needed. So cute and totally adorable. I stamped
the bat and cat image onto watercolor paper and embossed the
edges so I could use my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color
them up. (Tip: Embossing the images helps me control my water as I watercolor,
so my colors don’t run together.) I did a little fussy cutting (if you
want perfect cuts every time, there are dies that match these images, I
just own them yet!) and set them aside until I put the card together.
I created a shaker element for my card with the Drink if You Dare dies. I double up with the foam adhesive so there is plenty of room for the Build a Scene Halloween Sequins. I cut the potion bottle top with some cork to give it a life-like feel.
For the background, I picked two of my favorite designs from the 6×6 Build a Scene Halloween Paper Pack for my background. That was hard to do, but I
narrowed it down to these two. You’ll see some Granny Smith Cardstock
peeking out from behind them.
I used the stamped
images as my card embellishments and attached the cork top along the
bottom, too, so I could make it look like the bats were flying out of the
open bottle. Those sequins are too fun! I finished off the card with an “eek” tag tied on with a purple hemp cord bow. See, spooky and cute!
Thank you for sharing this absolutely spookilicious card with us today, Lisa! You can find more of Lisa’s fabulous work on her blog, My Little Creative Escape. Have a joyful day!
