Blog Design Team: Give Thanks
Happy day-before-Halloween! Tomorrow night, all things spooky will be out and about, so today let’s make something beautiful with Kay Miller who reminds us that pumpkins aren’t just for carving!
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
Hello TE friends and fans! It’s a pumpkin time of year and I have a
cute Fall card to share with you today! I know in real life you probably
won’t see a turquoise pumpkin, but I have sure seen a lot of painted ones
around the past few years, on cards and on Pinterest, and I really love
the way they look mixed with the orange ones. So I had to have a couple
of turquoise pumpkins in my ‘pumpkin patch’!
I started
with a top-folded card base and covered the front of it with a
piece of Poppyseed cardstock to fit. I then took a piece of Sugar Cube
cardstock, cut it down to 5-1/4 x 4. I cut a hole out of a piece of
scratch cardstock and used that as a stencil to sponge a circular
background onto my white piece. I used Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid
Lagoon Distress Inks, and blended them until I got a really dark looking
nighttime sky. I then stamped all of the pumpkins in a couple of
different shades of orange ink, and of course the turquoise too, and cut
those out with the Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins matching dies. I stamped “
Give Thanks” down at the bottom right of my circle, and then adhered the
pumpkins with foam tape.
I then took my white gel pen and added a few
little white dots to the nighttime sky, to give the effect of some tiny
stars way off in the distance. I then added a few sequins from the Hocus Pocus Matched Sequins.
I think this would be a fun card to give for Thanksgiving or
just to celebrate the fall season! So glad you stopped by the Taylored
Expressions blog today! Hope you enjoyed my card!
Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing this wonderful card with us today. Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her gorgeous work. Have a joyful day!
