Blog Design Team: Love Birds
Has this been one of those TGIF weeks for you? Well, let’s kick off a well-deserved weekend of craftiness with Blog Design Team member Amy Kolling, who has created a sweet love card that will have you singing like a love bird with joy!
Now, let’s hear from Amy about her project…
Valentine’s Day is coming up and I love creating for this holiday. I
mean, who doesn’t love pink, red, and white? Love cards can be used for
so many occasions, so I like to have many on hand to make the occasion
special.I adore white cards with a pop of color. I did a quick
watercolor wash of Distress Inks for the background “sky”. A white
panel with a circle die-cut in the center was placed over the watercolor.
The images from Love is an Adventure are just adorable and these birds
top my favorites. The love birds were stamped, die-cut, and colored
with Copic markers. To the wings, Wink of Stella was added. The love
birds were adhered with foam adhesive. After I assembled my card,
I thought it was pretty plain. So I die-cut some hearts from the Hearts
a Flutter Cutting Plate using pink cardstock and added Wink of Stella
to the diecut hearts. I really wanted to make my white card stand out
and adding in the largest frame from the Frame to Frame Cutting Plate was
the perfect touch. I love the look of the embossing on the frame! Lastly, I added some flicks of my Wink of Stella over the
entire card.
Thanks so much, Amy, for sharing this totally sweet love card with us today! You can catch more of Amy’s design work on her blog, Stamp-n-Paradise. Have a joyful weekend!
