Blog Design Team: Let March In!
Hey, hey, crafty peeps! It’s already Thursday, if you can believe it, and this week is just flying by. Today we’ve got a treat for you as Blog Design Team member Sharon Harnist continues her darling 6×6 Calendar series with her next installment of the month of March! Check it out…
And now here is Sharon to tell you all about her project…
I’m ready for March wind (and sun!), flowers and warmer weather … how about you? Hopefully this flowery little lamb March calendar will help bring on Spring! Here’s how it came together:
After printing the March 2016 6×6 Calendar onto white cardstock, I die cut the edges with the Stitched Scallop Edger Die and adhered it to a Peapod 6×6 base.
I stamped the sweet little lamb from Calendar Critters twice, using a stamp positioner (such as a Stamp-a-ma-Jig or a Misti) so they look like they are holding hands, then colored them with Copic markers (C0, C1, C2, C4, C7, R20). Next, I placed a strip of Granny Smithcardstock that had been cut with the Grass Border Die under the lambs’ feet and then die cut them with a Stitched Circle Stacklet. The “hello spring” sentiment from Calendar Critters was stamped onto a Sign Post die cut from Sugar Cube cardstock. The sign was colored with Copic E50, E41, and E42.
Next, I used the Mini Bloomers dies to cut flowers from Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Lavender Glaze, and Jelly Donut cardstock and had fun mixing them together to create a bouquet of flowers to scatter across the calendar. Here’s how the calendar looks in my Frame Your Imagination Vertical Stand (painted white):
I hope Spring is on its way to you, wherever you are … soon!
Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your wonderful calendar with us! You can find more of her work on her blog, PaperFections. Have a joyful day!
