Blog Design Team: Be-YOU-tiful YOU!

And now, here’s Lisa to tell us all about her project…

I didn’t get a chance last month to use the gorgeous Leafy Vine Cutting Plate, so I’ve been anxious to create something with this pretty die!LisaH-BeYOUtiful 1

I first spent time doing some ink blending with some blue distress inks (Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch). Check out the mini cubes that Taylor has stocked in the TE Shop. Those little inks make it easy to collect lots of Distress Ink colors. I inked up the panel first and then cut out the panel with the Leafy Vine Cutting Plate.

The whimsical flower from Under The Flower Stamp & Die Combo. I first colored it with pink and then I changed my mind and stamped it again and colored it up with some bright green and yellow Copics. Don’t be afraid to change your mind as you are creating!

I used the small Frame in Frame Cutting Plate to cut the main image panel from Sugar Cube cardstock. I then used my Distress Markers on the sentiment from Free Spirit. I love this one. It’s so inspirational, one word written out in a way that speaks volumes…brilliant!

I added a touch of glitter to some of the leafy vines and the flower with a Clear Wink of Stella marker. A scattering of Rainbow Bright Sequins in yellow and white finished off the card.

    Very pretty card. The most beautiful person in my life is most definitely my mother, Anna. She has taught me what it means to be a very strong, caring, courageous & faithful woman. She has shown me that I can get through the most difficult times in my life as I currently watch her battle and conquer her most recent breast cancer diagnosis. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. If you read this mom – I love you more than you’ll ever know and you will beat this!!!

    The most beautiful person in my life is my daughter. She is the strongest person I know. Being born at 26 weeks and a mere 1lb 13 1/2onz, it was a struggle for her from day one. Her struggles only made her stronger and more full of love than anyone else I know. After our youngest passed away at 2 years old, she started a fund at our store in honor of her sister. Each year we take those funds and we buy toys for our local hospital for Christmas. While delivering the toys this past Christmas, she saw a child in the emergency room and walked over to the family and asked if she could give the child a toy. I was so choked up! She is a true inspiration to me! <3
